They asked Les today in his presser about who he would compare Amari Cooper to. It got me wondering about how he stacks up against what Julio was able to do on the field there.

Curious as to how Bama would compare these two guys? Seems like Cooper has benefitted from maybe a more aggressive passing offense but Julio was very physical.

Is Cooper a sure fire first rounder at this point?

Cooper has better speed. Julio was freakishly strong for a receiver. If there was a ball thrown up to him, he was catching it.

Cooper is the real deal.

But I'd take Julio all day until cooper and company play some tougher teams and Coop produces the same (or close to) numbers.

Yes. It would be a huge surprise for any receiver to be drafted above him.

I think Julio was probably the better physical talent, but Cooper runs better routes and has better hands. I would want Cooper in college but Julio in the NFL if I were a coach.

Ummm yeah...

I love Julio, absolute physical freak of nature, but at times he had bricks for hands...

Coop>>Julio

Cooper is like a faster version of AJ Green..

This was not always the case. Cooper has better hands than Julio.

I would actually disagree. I bet Julio's 40 time at the combine will beat Coopers. Cooper gets wide open because of his route running, not elite speed.

Cooper has been better, but I do agree that Julio was a bit limited by Alabama's playcalling with JPW and McElroy.

Julio is a rare combination of size and athleticism/speed. Cooper is also a great athlete but not a freak athlete like Julio. Cooper gets open more and has better/more consistent hands.

I guess I'd take Cooper if I had to choose.

Would be very surprised if he isn't taken in the top half of round 1.

I expect the falcons to trade 3 years of draft picks for Cooper.

That would be ridiculous to have that much talent at WR.

Another number 1 type WR is about 20th on the list of things the Falcons need to draft this year. The Falcons need to be trading down for more picks. If they trade up for less picks again, the entire front office should just be fired.

Julio was a better athlete with more raw talent, but, imo, Cooper is the more polished receiver at the college level. He also seems to have much more consistent hands than Julio ever did. Julio is more just a freakish athlete for the position he plays.

The only thing Julio has over Coop is a some inches and 20-25 lbs. Other than that Coop is better in every way.
