Obviously, they haven't annointed him after 2 games, but he's now on every GM's radar.

Incredibly intelligent, high character guy with an arm and wheels.

So why hasn't he been starting from the beginning? Is he just a gamer?

Word is the coaching staff promised him and his parents a redshirt year.

Wanted a year to focus primarily on his aerospace engineering degree.

Why wasn't he the starter at the beginning of the season? I thought he was decent last season.

That's been what we've heard since spring, didn't practice well, wanted to let him have a redshirt to focus on academics.

I don't have direct knowledge of the situation, but a source on 247 said Butch called his parents personally after the Ole Miss game and asked their permission.

Well he is throwing for 58% of his passed with 4 TDs and 2 picks in 2 games so he isn't just playing insane. He's playing average

He'll have a great career at UT. I want to say one thing to this young man: "Stay humble and keep working hard"

Bray became a douchebag once fans anointed him as Braysus.

You are completely missing the part of his game that makes him good, his legs. We didn't give up a single sack because of his movement and with this Oline that's saying a lot.

Also rushed for 3, and set the school QB rushing yards record on Saturday, he's just doing ok.

No. Jones talked with both Dobbs and his family before burning it. They knew Worley was hurt and so approved it. I think the whole reason we started Peterman against Bama was due to one last attempt to preserve it but after a few series it was plain that Peterman was as bad as we all knew he was but the plan for Dobbs to play that game had already been ok'd by the family.

Ironically, the only reason we have Dobbs is due to academics. UT is one of a handful of universities that offers the major. The engineering dept. was actually a BIG part of his recruitment - they pitched the dept. to Dobbs and his parents on his visit here and answered all of their questions regarding what kind of academic path he would be on here and how he could set it up. First time, I ever recall that happening. But then, you have to remember his first offers were from the Ivy Leagues.

Smart doesn't begin to describe his level of intelligence.
