Ranking Fluctuation:

Mississippi State: NR to 11 (+14)
Ole Miss: 18 to 3 (+15)

Undefeated Start:

Mississippi State: 7-0
Ole Miss: 7-0

Finish to the Season:

Mississippi State: 1-4
Ole Miss: 0-2 (Loss to LSU, Auburn, with Arkansas, Presbyterian, Mississippi State, Bowl Game left)

Narratives:

Mississippi State: #WeBelieve (Thinking we could beat Alabama)
Ole Miss: #Bo4Heisman (Riding Big Brothers coattails)

Great DB's Letting us down:

Bitch QB's:

Hell at least Banks won the Thorpe Award.

Nah, 2014 Ole Miss is a much better all around team than State 2012 was.

State 2012 just happened to have 7 miserable teams in their first 7 games. Jackson State, 3-8 Auburn, Troy, USA, Kentucky, 5-7 Tennessee, MTSU.

Ole Miss has also lost 2 heartbreakers to good teams.

State got run out of the building 5 of the last 6 games.

Really not a lot a like.

Will the record reflect such differences?

ETA: 1 heartbreaker. The other was just Bo being Bo. Much like Russell being Russell.

the difference is ole miss beat an alabama team, and played auburn close (LSU was just a shite show no exude well played)

MSU 2012 had beaten no one. We have two tough losses against two quality teams. I see no resemblance

Will the record show close losses in the record books?

You had a really strong start to this thread, but you're faltering with the replies. Rooting for you though.

As with many threads such as this, there isn't a lot of equipment behind the curtain.

No, OM 14 is better than State in 12 and it isn't even close. State in 12 was a scheduling fluke.

This year I think State is better but not by much.

Without a doubt, doesn't change the similarities between the two outcomes though.

I think the one fatal flaw in this thread is that I did not take into account the Alabama fans running in here to dickride/defend Ole Miss' season because they lost to them.

Damn.

Bama is fricked. After what I saw our front 7 do this weekend vs a very diverse, power run I feel ok saying that.
