When we talk about Yankees we always talk shite about Missouri because they didn't secede but Kentucky didn't either.
Why do they get a pass?

It is 2014. It's time to get over the whole civil war thing. and who gives a frick if their ancestors didn't secede 150 years ago?

The funny thing about that map is that Missouri and Kansas battled each other before the War even started. That map makes it look like they are "friends and partners".
The hatred carries on today between the two flagship universities of each state, started from the war. Not some "sports" rivalry.

The history of Missouri during the civil war is one of the most complicated aspects of the whole period. Most people, even Missourians don't completely understand it, but it includes moving the capital multiple times to keep it from falling under Confederate control, the Union basically holding Missouri hostage because of its importance, states having more autonomy and a lot of soldiers basically fighting for preservation of the state vs a certain side, and a lot of German immigrants. We were not Union or Confederate.

Because the hillbillies didn't vote. Had they voted, the state would have seceded by an overwhelming majority.

so Kentucky should not get a pass because you consider them Yankees? and Yankees are not people you like? because they insisted on the united states remain united and fought a war backing that up?
and that's relevant in the world of college football in 2014?
somebodys fricked up and it aint' me.

I doubt if all those "athletes" on southern teams care about some union vs confederates. They probably roll their eyes at shite like this. "Thank god the Union freed our people"
