2008- #1 Bama goes to OT against the worst LSU team under Les Miles.

2010- Bama (McElroy, Ingram, J. Jones, etc) loses to LSU (Jordan Jefferson) in Death Valley

2012- #1 Bama (Eventual champs, McCarron, Lacy, Mosely, Milliner, etc) barely escapes with a win against an average LSU team in Death Valley.

I would argue that all three matchups were very lobsided on paper in Bama's favor. I think this year the teams are somewhat evenly matched with a slight advantage to Bama. A slight talent advantage will not be enough to overcome the Death Valley factor. Bama should expect to lose.

Good points. I also believe Alabama will win a close game this weekend, like two of your three examples.

Death Valley factor

Perhaps one day yall will understand that this doesn't phase Alabama. When you have an 80 yard drive in a minute and half to win the game with no timeouts, clearly you DGAF about a bunch of drunks hollering in the stands.

We own your arse in Baton Rouge. I know yall read articles and quotes about how great tiger stadium is, and it's a fine venue for a football game, but the University of Alabama football team owns your arse in Baton Rouge. Please stop bringing up the "death valley factor" in regards to Alabama, because history has proven we just don't give a frick. This is Alabama we're talking about buddy, we are used to the hostility, we are used to the target on our back, and we own Tiger Stadium.

And no mention of last years very average LSU team. So besides 2011 LSU (when Bama skull fricked LSU in the NCG 21-0) hasn't been playing at an elite level in quite a while. Thanks for proving the #decline.

That's because last year's game was not

and neither was 2007, 2009 or 2011.

Consensus was that was this years team until a victory was eked out over Ole Miss.

Of course, should Bama win, I expect that sentiment will make a rousing return.

2012 LSU was not average. Mettenberger and the LSU staff discovered his capabilities in that game against the SEC's second best secondary. If LSU had beaten Alabama, perhaps they wouldn't have looked so average afterwards. Losing the Saban Bowl the way they did pretty much ended the season for several of the juniors.

You need to check your history. TS in reality is a home game for Bama. You need to see how many years Bama has beaten LSU in TS since 1969. Alabama owns LSU in TS. I'm an LSU alumni but facts are facts. BTW, I'm not going to argue with some LSU "fan" who never sniffed the LSU campus.

Baton Rouge, at night. Bama tends to own the Tigers in this situation.
