The same morons melting over the defense were melting over nick Marshall a few weeks ago... it's like they can't enjoy the ride.

We've got flaws.... but so does every other team in America. Hell, FSU got lit up like a Christmas tree by a shitty UL offense on Thursday.

Bet you were pretty happy happy about that 10-9 win against LSU in 2004.

Did we give LSU 150 yds in penalties and 40+ yard runs due to constant missed tackles? did we let them convert on 3rd down repeatedly?? or did we play goot football and fight and EARN the win? Do you see the difference yet, smart one?

If anyone is OK with the defense we've seen against Mississippi State, South Carolina and Ole Miss, then they are have no problem with being below average. I may have overreacted in the heat of the moment by saying I was done with Ellis Johnson, but this is not a championship caliber defense we are seeing. We seem to the regressing. And of the offense hadn't caught rhythm against South Carolina, we would be staring 3 losses in the face.

Regardless, a win is a win and I'll gladly take it, but it's hard to be satisfied with anything less than top notch. We have to show improvement on defense.

How is being stoked our team beat #4 on the road equal being okay with the defense?

Am I missing something?

It's just a generalized statement for people calling out others for not being OK with how the defense is performing. It's the only thing I've been critical of this year, and it seems to be building.

On a side note, those penalties were crazy tonight. I don't think I've ever seen anything like it.

So it's okay for people to melt calling out coaches, players, refs, etc, but it's not okay for posters calling them out for because they don't feel the same?

I think joey is making the point that lost in the melt over the defense Auburn is 7-1 and just beat a very good Ole Miss team at home. We as fans hardly enjoy the positives of what just happened.

Good thing we had great defenses against Arkansas, USCe, UK in 2010, because there is no way a team that gave up that many points to those teams could win a national championship.

ETA: and that great Auburn defense of 2013 that paved the way to a sec championship and was 13 seconds away from a national championship. They must have been top 20.

If it wasn't a normal, every team phenomenon, sure. So can I not melt about people melting over melting? It's very circular here. It just seems odd to be upset over emotional fans.

I fully agree with him on that, but at the same time I can't be satisfied with that kind of performance from the defense. The greatness of our offense usually digs us out of holes, but a complete team is the ultimate goal, IMO.

I melt every time our D takes the field. Other than that, I am good..........until Gus tries to get too cute when we are trying to close out the game.

No one should be satisfied with our defense and I really haven't seen anyone claim they are.

And the funny thing to me is, if we won the game 17-13, the reaction here would be completely different.

Do you not see the complete stupidness of that?

Then why call out others for being critical about a defense that has, absolutely, played awful the last 3 games (not trying to single you or anyone else out here)? I agree that we shouldn't be satisfied. Nobody should be satisfied with the performances we are seeing.

The problem with the defense is the way it happened. Poor tackling, penalties, bad angles. We have several very talented players who have totally disappeared

We got housed for a 50 yd TD on a 7 yd curl. This play was a symbol of the whole game.

What made it worse is that the DL was destroying OM up front. But it didn't matter because the back end was so bad.
