A Mexican judge has freed jailed US Marine Andrew Tahmooressi, his family said late Friday.

Tahmooressi, 26, who served two tours of duty in Afghanistan, has been held since March 31, when he said he mistakenly crossed into Mexico with three legally-purchased and registered guns in his truck.

A court-appointed psychiatrist confirmed that Tahmooressi has Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder.

Family spokesman Jonathan Franks said the judge released him from the Tijuana jail without making a determination on the charge against him.

The family issued the following statement: "It is with an overwhelming and humbling feeling of relief that we confirm that Andrew was released today after spending 214 days in a Mexican jail."

NOW HERE'S WHAT I WANT TO KNOW:

Why was Barack Hussein Milhouse Obama so eager to barter 5 high level terrorists for the release of a traitor/deserter, but was unwilling to LIFT A frickING FINGER to free this innocent man?

Just because I work for the cartels doesn't mean I'd ever leave behind one of my own.

Just kidding, NSA.

Any particular reason you included Nixons middle name in this post? Unless you are snorting crank, I see no linkage between Obama and Nixon.

What was he in jail for? He probably deserved it. How do you accidentally drive into Mexico?

I accidently crossed into Canada once when on a backpacking trip in Minnesota. There weren't any Mounties to arrest me though.

Firstly, what does the president have to do with getting someone out of a foreign prison?

If we were holding a prisoner from Mexico for suspected gun trafficking, and the Mexican president called to demand his release, do you think we would listen?

Secondly, this guy had crossed the border several times prior to his arrest. He was well aware of the layout of the area, and knew where the last exit was, etc., as he had both walked and driven across the border in the past.

Finally, this guy is a Marine, he is trained in situational awareness. If you realize that you are about to cross into Mexico with guns, especially guns that are registered to you legally in the US, then you pull over to the shoulder before you reach the checkpoint, and call for help. You do not get in the line and take your chances with the Mexican Federales.

Anyone who has ever traveled across the border knows the deal, and knows exactly how it works. You don't do what that guy did if you've crossed numerous times in the past.

There is more to this story, and I suspect that the State Dept. did more behind the scenes than is being reported. You aren't being told the entire story, for whatever reason, but I can tell you with almost 100% certainty that there is much more to this story.

Suspected Gun Trafficking??? ARE YOU frickING KIDDING ME???

He had 3 legally purchased firearms, which he declared to the border police, he was arrested (likely because the Mexican Cops were looking for a bribe, they do that all the time btw) and he was held for 214 days.

You're full of shite if you don't think that the president couldn't have gotten this resolved with one phone call.
