Widespread Panic is from ohio and new york city mostly........

Someone should look into the bios of "Georgia-Florida Line". They're probably from the Dakotas.

This game just makes me think of how much I like Shawn Williams after that week leading up to the 2012 game when he called out the defense for playing so soft. That 2012 game was one of the most physical UGA games I've watched. Let's hope we see the Dawgs play like that again this year.

quote:

"No matter what you see, you've gotta react and play football. Right now I feel like we're seeing stuff, we're not reacting, we're not just playing football. And right now, Florida's playing very physical and they're gonna try to come out and just manhandle you. So I'm really looking forward to seeing what are we gonna do. Somebody's gonna get punched in the mouth, it's either gonna be us or them. And whoever gets punched in the mouth is gonna have to step bacck in and say: What are we gonna do now? Are we gonna give in or are we gonna fight back?"

Then Williams backed it up on that 4th and 1 when Patton tried to run wide and Williams snapped his arm like a dry stick.

We got emasculated by south carolina and got given up on by the Universe.........

And then, someone set the tone.......by tearing a dude's arm out of the socket to prevent a close 3rd down conversion early..... The rest was history.

Who was that?

Shawn Williams. I lost it when he exploded out of nowhere and ruined Patton's day, not because Patton got hurt but because that really set the tone the play

Yea after watching Kentucky just hammer us on the ground the week before I didn't see how we'd line up vs Florida that year.

Not to wax too sentimental but this game and "The Play" is what makes this sport so special.

My father is 74 years do and has been diagnosed with Alzheimer's. He is in pretty good shape but he is starting to get really frustrated with his memory loss (for the most part he jokes that it is great because he can read a book or see a movie over and over again because it is always new to him). Anyway I talked with him on the phone yesterday and as is the case with us the conversation quickly got the "how is so and so's" out of the way and got straight to our favorite topic...Georgia Football. I asked him if he was ready for the Gators and after a long diatribe laced with profanity and questioning the ancestry of anyone south of Valdosta he said " Guess what I watched on channel 611 yesterday?" (Apparently 611 is the SEC network and not one of the pay per view porn channels that my Uncle hacks and Daddy gets and is wont to watch several days a week). I asked him what and it was a replay of this game....and then he proceeded, over the next 20 minutes to perfectly recall what he and I was doing that day and our reaction to this game, including a near perfect imitation of Munson's call, broken chair, destroyed property and all. He even remembered that God was a Bullldog as proven by the fact that Notre Dame got knocked out of #1 by Tech and Tech didn't even get a win in the process.

Anyway, I thought I would share. If your not a fan you can't understand how a man who sometimes can't remember his kids names due to disease can, in a moment of pure clarity, remember the smallest details about a game that took place 30 or more years ago. GO DAWGS!!!!!

To me, what makes college football better than any other sport are the rivalries, fans and traditions. In the NFL, a rivalry only exists if both teams are good. By contrast, last year's WLOCP was one of the more intense and heated ones I've seen, even though both teams were injured and neither was really going anywhere. Red Sox/Yankees is nice, but they play 18 times a year and if they were in Milwaukee and Minneapolis, ESPN wouldn't ever talk about it. There are no rivalries in the NBA as the players are too good of friends.

WLOCP and rivalries like it are special. Enjoy it. GO DAWGS!

Nat Hudson is the man who threw the block for buck. Tailgated with him in Stillwater in 09, he cooked a whole pig. He also held a whole coke can in his fingers like it was a thimble.
