Saw this on another board and wanted to share it with you guy. Its a very detailed visual breakdown of how the Offense works with Dobbs in and how we were able to have success against the gumps. Informative illustration if you have some free time.

Mack crowder in this article..

It's one of the first posts on UTs 247 page

... You saw this on VolNation didn't you?

I can honestly say I've been to VN less than 5 times in my life. The format bugs the shite out of me.

Yes, yes I did

I've started back going there every now and then throughout my boring work day, it provides nice comic relief if nothing else

I DO NOT POST THERE

Good read. I guess I didn't consider the difference between zone and gap. All this new-fangled shite.

Ok maybe you're telling the truth because of all the things to bitch about on VN the format isn't one of them. It's got one of the best board setups anywhere.

Well if you search for Wishnitwas1998 on there I did create an account there a long time ago when I didn't know anything about the site but I don't think I posted a single time

It always reminded me of one of the cheesy/outdated rivals/volquest layouts.

Either way, when Dobbs really pieces everything together, we're going to be nasty

ETA: I just checked out the mobile version and it does look better.

Wow you must've been then in a time I've never seen before. I like their format. Wish the rant was closer to it. Being able to go to the last post you read would make things a helluva lot easier to navigate around here. tRant is ancient in comparison.

And yeah we're gonna be nasty when Dobbs is polished. He has soooo much potential despite having things to work on.

I think you are Josh Dobbs.

Don't post between series anymore, okay Josh?

P.S. I used to post on VolNation.

I hated the complete inability for folks there to be objective.

So somehow I ended up at this shite hole :)

Can't help it Rome, I'm excited about my first start this year. Ok, ok, I know you're right... I'll try to keep it focused tomorrow.

The features seem fine. It's the general appearance. For what ever reason, I've just never cared for it.

Anyways, You think he has a repeat performance similar to last weekend?

I really think so.

It only helps that Skai Moore is out as well. He is the bright spot on a lackluster defense.

I think Dobbs is gonna have a hell of a good game tomorrow. I'll say 225 yards passing and 65 rushing. 2 TD tosses.

Nice read, TRT.

Logically I think so but I've been traumatized a bit these past few years. The improvement from last year is unreal but it's gonna be on the road and I expect them to try and rattle him early. Spurrier has said he plans to stack the box and force us to throw (basically said "if you can throw downfield let's see you prove it") which looking at our team statistically and over the course of the season is a pretty good idea (that type of defensive strategy, our OL, and the lack of mobility at QB previously is what forced a dink and dunk passing game with Worley and all those damned sideways passes) but I'm not sure it's a great game plan/one that will last given Dobbs can scramble away from pass rushers and throw downfield. SC's secondary is pretty dreadful but for some reason they're far more concerned with their DL not holding up against the run.

Of course, Spurrier could just be bullshitting with that comment but it makes sense to at least try it with a new QB on the road and a piss poor OL.

I like the fact that North is Dobbs' roommate and that the two of them are always hanging out with Malone. That bodes well for the chemistry factor that can be an issue when a new QB comes in without snaps. Malone got his first TD pass of the season last week and while it was short throw into the endzone, it was a thing of beauty and a throw and catch that isn't made unless you're in sync.

Von Pearson is also a whole lot closer to 100 percent so he should be a bigger factor this week.

I expect Dobbs to make mistakes but hopefully they won't be catastrophic ones. Last year, he tried too hard to force things and do everything on his own. This year he looked a lot more comfortable and confident. And the WRs/TEs are much, much further along than last year's receiving corps that had no returning starters at all.

I'm a bit concerned with our OL giving us problems and the fact that this is a road game. I've seen enough from Dobbs though to firmly believe he CAN repeat BUT I'm not quite ready to say that he will. There are too many factors with our offense, a first start of the season on the road and in the middle of the season instead of at the beginning, and of course, Spurrier to be ready to guarantee it. But I def. think the talent is there.

After reading that article I fully expect Baja to go back to calling the run game the same as before Alabama
