That image of Audrey Hepburn looks like a slightly prettier version of young Hillary Clinton.

Beauty is all about symmetry. And while she is symmetric and very beautiful, she's almost too perfect, and therefore boring. Almost computer generated.

Not enough personality in that face.

Yep. She's the same type of sexy/beautiful as Sophia Loren. In fact, they look enough alike to be related.

There's a museum here that has an entire floor dedicated to her. I was shocked I had never heard of her.

Audrey Hepburn
Grace Kelly
Natalie Wood
Sophia Loren
Raquel Welch

All classic beauties with grace. You rarely see a celebrity today like them.

Well, she's 80 years old. You'd have to be a fan of old movies to know of her. If you watch them, you'll see that she embodies everything that defines the ideal woman. Strong but graceful, delicate yet powerful and, especially, brooding but sexy.

In the modern celebs' defense, there is far more of an invasive/insatiable 24 hour news cycle that runs on scandal amd rumors of scandal.

Far easier to cultivate/maintain an image a few generations ago than it is today.

Good post and it's also society wants to find flaws now IMO.

We are a more cynical society now than back in the day. For better or for worse. You're right--overall we tend to look to tear down celebs quickly and more often than we used to.

It's just interesting to me because it creates a dynamic where it seems like folks back in the day were so much purer, but it's more the simple fact that it was easier for them to cover their tracks, especially because fewer people were actively looking for said tracks.

Ain't nothing new under the sun when it comes to celeb seediness
