A lot of discrepancies on this board about who lsu needs to root for and why. Personally I hope all you would burn in hell, but that's not possible. So here is the most preferred scenario for lsu:
First lsu has to win out (least likely)
MSU loses to Arkansas, Alabama, Ole miss
Auburn beats Ole Miss, but loses to Georgia and Alabama
This is the only scenario. Ole Miss fans say we hate you because you guys are still in the playoff scenario. Personally I don't care because we won last week so kudos to yall.

MSU only has to lose to Alabama and Ole Miss for LSU to win the west.
Ole Miss has to lose to Auburn and beat State.
Auburn has to beat Ole Miss, but lose to UGA and Alabama.

That Leaves LSU, MSU, Ole Miss, and Alabama at 6-2.

LSU is 2-1 (wins over Ole Miss and Alabama; loss to State)
Ole Miss is 2-1 (wins over Alabama and State; loss to LSU)
Alabama is 1-2 (win over Auburn; losses to LSU and Ole Miss)
MSU is 1-2 (win over LSU; losses to Alabama and Ole Miss)

LSU and Ole Miss have the best head to head record among teams in the tie and LSU holds the tie breaker.

Your statement is false. It has been discussed multiple times by other fanbases with some confusion. Your concern over this matter is proven by the time you took out of your night to click and reply in this thread. Also, GFY.

I thought about that, but even in your scenario LSU, Alabama, and Ole Miss are in a 3 way tie at 6-2. We don't win outright. We win by head to head tie breaker.

IMO, outright means you don't have to resort to head-to-head results and one team has a clearly better record than the other.

eta: for that to happen

Ole Miss has to lose to Auburn and Arkansas.
Alabama has to lose to LSU and Auburn.
Auburn has to lose to UGA and aTm.
State has to lose to Alabama, Ole Miss, and Arkansas.

That is true, I didn't think about that. How about this is the scenario that would take place outside of a 5/4 way tie and would be in the favor of lsu

It is by far the "cleanest" scenario for LSU in that they have the head to head victory over all teams in the tie.

The 4 way tie with State involves LSU not having a head to head victory, but relying on that team having more overall losses within the tie.

If you're gonna start a thread like this, at least get it right.

We don't need State to lose 3 times.

Please stop.

I don't think it'd be the first time Mr Earl would be cussed by the Tiger Nation.

incorrect

LSU is more likely to win out than State is to drop 3

Sorry that it's October and you can't do the same for your team.

Enjoy 6th place.

To be honest, I like LSU's chances more than I like Ole Miss'.

That said, no one is going to bet on us making the play off nor should they. It's pretty cool though that with a team with this many freshmen we are still playing for something in November.
