Name me one "great" NFL QB who plays with subpar talent. He's already proven to be an above-average starting QB with average-at-best supporting cast. The difference this year is that he's playing with a scrap-heap receiving core and zero OL. Half their payroll goes to two RB's, both of whom are way past their prime and can't even stay healthy regardless. They traded Steve Smith because they couldn't afford to pay him under their cap limitations.

Their prior GM screwed the team so badly. So much cap space going towards players who aren't even contributing, they can't even add pieces.

I hate cats. Now, that's not saying I would defend him, but I may suggest his favorite Chinese restaurant was closed and he wanted some General Tsao's.

You know, the guy is just not playing good and doesn't appear (just by observing him on the sidelines) to be leading very well. He may be, but perceptions seem like reality to many.

By perception you mean the narrative that's been set since he left Auburn. Just because you hear something on ESPN does not make it a fact

Cam has his issues but some of these tired, cliche, #hotsportstakes just need to stop

I wish they would throw more to Benjamin! Dude can snag some balls and is huge. Play a lot of jump ball with the guy.

Benjamin is the same player he was at Florida State: one great catch over two guys, next one goes right through his hands with no one around him. He's already dropped a seasons worth of passes. He's a good player, but when you've got a bad offense like Carolina his drops end up killing as many drives as he actually converts.

Second and third looks? Half the time he's barely got enough time to let his first option develop.

Carolina's offense is atrocious. Kalil is the only OL that would start on a good team. Their RBs are washed up. The only passing targets they have is Benjamin and Olson. Behind them are Avant and Cotchery.

If you give Peyton Manning this offense, he wouldn't do much better. Cam is a top 10 QB on a bottom 5 offense. Not much he can do. And to make matters worse, if they sign him to a huge deal next year, I don't believe they will have much room to get him talent around him.

Yes he does. He has been averaging like 13 or 14 a year. Listen I like Cam, he was a great college QB, but his NFL career is spiraling downward.

Why do I have a feeling AU fans would defend him if he was torturing kittens?

I wonder if you've ever jumped on here defending Ingram. Because Alabama fans aren't quick to do that, are they?

If true, there is a reason for it - but not what you are trying to portray in your comment.

It is pretty funny. 10 of 28 with a pick and four sacks falls into the "awful" column any way you want to define it. Four sacks to a team that ranks in the lower third of NFL for sacks.

You realize that says more about that patch work OL full of undrafted players than the QB standing behind them, right?

ETA: war eagle kritten. odd to see you in this type of thread. a thread about a former Auburn player.
