Only way I'll ever find any solace in this situation is if UGA goes throwback and leads the charge against ridding the nation of the NCAA's influence. Like OU and Georgia did in the 80s and TV contracts.

Based on what we now know of the case, I never understood what the basis was for an appeal. Guess it was just a formality.

Just a formality. Kind of surprised they didn't at least drop the community service hours, though. NCAA may be the single most tone deaf organization in the world.

I'm guessing Gurley's lawyers negotiated the community service in lieu of Tud having to pay back all of the "over $3000". We still don't know what "portion" of the money he's on the hook for.

Does he have to complete the community service before Nov 15?

Honestly I wouldn't do it if I were him. He didn't commit an actual crime.

Community service is a condition of reinstatement. Nobody can force him to do it, but he won't be able to play until he does.

Now THAT would be some shite, wouldn't it? TG doesn't return to the field because he doesn't want to do community service

He got what he brought down on himself, he knew the risk and played a poor hand.

How stupid do you have to be?

The shoe in Heisman Candidate on the dole for selling his autograph in excess of $3k yeah, nobody is going to spill the beans on this story....

I for one am sick of the apologist attitude prevalent in here.

For those wondering, was able to confirm that Todd Gurley WOULD NOT have to complete his 40 hour community service before he plays 11-15.

This is good news

So either the NCAA modified the original sentence, doesn't understand what reinstatement condition means, or Anthony Dasher is wrong.

He should do as little as possible until January and then tell them to piss off.
