Didn't watch the video. Did it give actual names of the "NFL execs" this time?

Of course not. Don't let facts weigh down a good falsehood.

quote:

We've been hearing this kind of talk for years. Still, really good HS players with plenty of options keep coming to Alabama (at a higher rate than just about anybody) and Alabama keeps putting a lot of highly drafted players in the NFL (at a higher rate than just about anybody). People allegedly keep saying this, but when the rubber hits the road neither the players with NFL aspirations nor the NFL execs doing the drafting seem to be taking it to heart.

As I pointed out, plenty of players have gone on to be pretty impressive. I wonder how many colleges have produced as many Pro Bowlers, Rookies of the Year, and just overall starters as we have.

quote:

Maybe that will change. However, there are a lot of Alabama players doing really well in the NFL right now, so maybe that will trump the scuttlebutt from unnamed NFL exes. We will see.

Yup. Only time will tell.

Mark Ingram is currently loved by Saints fans.
Yeah not really... its 50/50

And he has honestly had ONE good game this year.

I don't see they hype personally. Given where he was drafted and what he did in college more production is needed IMO.

Does he fit the offense no. Is he terrible no.

and please leave injuries out of it... I did.

Then why can't LSU win more national championships if their talent is so good?...is it bad coaching?....really.

I think the only thing to take away from the OP is that Saban doesn't give two shits about his players after they leave campus, get all you can get out of it then throw it away. The only reason a player would come back to visit Bama is because of his Alma Mater not to hang with Saban.

Also, ask Saints fans what they think of Mark Ingram

In Ingram's defense, Saints fans are the worst.

It's cause all those good players leave early for the NFL If LSU hadn't been constantly reloading over the past few seasons I think they would have at least played for another NC

These NFL execs should pay these players like Bama did when they were in college or shut up.

I wouldn't work as hard in the NFL as I did for Saban either, at half the pay.

So, AJ was only good because he was surrounded by NFL talent, but not really because they are all bad NFL talent?

I guess Saban must be a pretty good coach if he can get all these guys to win NCs but the NFL guys can't get them to be any good.

This Aubbie sure does follow our players closely. I wonder if he takes pictures of them TMZ style too.

I think his success this year is due to a change in blocking philosophy on the part of the Saints. They finally switched to a zone blocking scheme like Mark had at UA than the power blocking scheme they had been running. I think it's the same reason why Trent has been struggling with the Browns and Colts (in addition to the lines being crap at both places), and Lacy tearing it up with the Packers. It's all about how the o-line blocks.

Are you kidding? Most Alabama players aren't good at all in the NFL. Saban has been at Alabama for 8 or 9 years and he has only had 1 or 2 players make it to the Pro Bowl in the NFL

Not a Saints fan. I love how the guy could absolutely suck and be a HUGE bust for 3 and a half years, he has one 100 yard game and one good game after and the Gumps are like "ASK SAINTS FANS HOW THEY LIKE THEIR THURMON THOMAS/BARRY SANDERS HYBRID THAT THE MIDGET BEAR BESTOWED ON THEM! ROW TAHD!"

Let's calm down. The guy can't get breathed on without getting hurt. Like it or not the excuse "he has been hurt" isn't one. Staying healthy in the NFL is a skill, like any scout will tell you. Now my favorite team's running back, Le'Veon Bell, is an absolute hoss. The Spartans put some backs in the league.

I remember when I originally brought this up about 3 years ago. I think the thread went about 25 pages with angry gumps saying no NFL teams or scouts actually think this.
