I believe after the first several games, one play removes the red shirt.

1 play and its gone.

Unless they get hurt and havent played a 1/4 of the season yet, then they get apply and get a medical redshirt.

I think its a 1/4 of the season may be off on that part.

Think they changed it from 1/4 to 1/2.

1 play and redshirt is gone, unless you play less than 30% of the season and have a season ending injury, then you can apply for a medical redshirt.

1 play and a normal redshirt is gone. I believe it is 25% for a medical.

Josh Smith and Dillon Bates are applying for one for us. Smith should get one. Not sure on Bates.

Why wouldn't Bates get one? He played like 1 game.

They used to have a rule that you could play in garbage time for about a quarter total and still keep it but they changed that I think 10-15 years ago.

1 play redshirt is gone.

Medical waiver granted if injury occurs in first 3 games.

Team has to show injury was severe enough that player could not return during the season.
Medical waiver usually not applied for until senior year.
