Exactly, it was well intentioned idea, but it's an economic disaster. I hate having to throw away the first $.15 of every dollar I make, and that's before income taxes, knowing that it'll be long gone by the time I'm old enough to collect.

That may sound selfish, but I don't believe in investing in Government mandated Ponzi schemes.

Well, this shite started really going sideways when the congress started diverting social security funds to buy F-14's with it years and years ago.

Preach.

And they've continued the tradition by wasting $$$ on the F-35

This sounds like the first part of one of those VH1's Behind The Music.

I am 10 years older, less financially sound, and watch VH1 Behind The Music. I can rock Super Tecmo Bowl though. Generation X checking in.

Cool. Now how much dope do you have to sling to live life that large?

Your graph is misleading, probably intentionally.

I was referring to growing up as a Boomer, 1950's and 60's. 1973 was a little late.

Nixon. But we have Obama

Vietnam was awful but was history after 7-8 years. The war on terror will never end.

They can be pretty difficult. I live with one and while he doesn't speak a lot of English, I get a strong feeling that he thinks he knows everything and that all Americans are stupid. I've witnessed this with many Middle Easterners. They're extremely closed minded. My roommate just moved in and he tried to explain the thermostat to me last night like I was a 5 year old.. I've lived in the apartment since Fall of 2010 .

None. No wife. No kids. I work in the oil field, so half the time I'm eating free shitty man camp food, and incapable of spending extra cash on anything because there is nothing in South Texas(even if I had free time).

And to answer the OP: absolutely. They fricked so much stuff up that I've actually taken a sick pleasure out of watching them flip out over Obamacare and Republicans losing control in this country.

That's not how it works. This isn't a "how would I reallocate spending if every program worked how I wanted it to." Social security exists, and there are millions upon millions of Americans that have worked their whole lives with the expectations they would be receiving social security checks. Taking that from them now, is selfish. Just like those olds not giving two shits about education spending is selfish. It's the exact same shite.

There are "haves" and "haves nots" in every generation, including yours, sir. A lot of them were born with the "have" nature; others earn what they have through hard work.

I assure you that not every Baby Boomer is a fat cat. You may wonder why a lot of us work so many years. It's not because we relish "cheating" the younger generations by preventing them from moving up or into our jobs. It's because a lot of us are, have always been, and worry that we'll always continue to be "have nots" - in the scheme of things.

I could tell you what I think about your generation. But, I'm sure that I'd be stereotyping all of them unfairly, just as you have done so with my generation. Nevertheless, I shall refer to you, individually, as a whiny little titty baby.

That makes little sense. So, the Boomers shackled the nation with entitlements and you're in favor of giving them more?
