Freeze himself has admitted multiple times that he has been going vanilla and conservative as frick on offense because he knows he has a championship-level defense on the other side of the ball.

However, he has no problem dialing up the weekly dangerous Treadwell pass, Wilkins throwback, or Big Lig pass play that has potential turnover written all over it.

Is Hugh Freeze some sort of sociopath troll overlord that has been sent to Earth to torment us on game days???

I think the approach should be that because our defense is championship level, then we should should be taking shots downfield and risking a couple INTs/playing aggressive, knowing our defense can handle it.

Thing is, we were taking some shots toward the end of LSU, Bo just couldn't manage the adrenaline and was overthrowing wide open receivers. We need keep your helmet on after beating Alabama Bo this weekend, not hold up 3 fingers / shush the crowd Bo.

I agree for the most part. Bo missing open throws vs LSU did skew the narrative of how our offense was being called.

Serious question, what would be Freeze's definition of a less conservative offense? You guys threw the ball 35 times with Bo and ran 2-3 trick plays. That is an LSU fan's wet dream. I'm not sure we threw more than 35 times more than 3 games with Mett, Beckham, and Landry

Agreed - I understand the idea of staying balanced, but we punted in LSU territory twice, and they had been running it down our throat.

The reality is Freeze is a manager. Not many people are able to manage a program the way he does. Schematically he is a average play caller. Sometimes he calls perfect plays, then at times he comes out with plays that make you wonder why the hell would anyone run that.

Its funny because on defense Wommack is a schematic genius. The last Ole Miss game I saw where there were schematic issues on defense the entire game was UGA in 2012. Even though we had horrible plays happen at times after that there were always guys in position that just didn't make plays.

This is basically what I said the other day after the LSU loss when everyone thought I was calling for Freeze's head. I wasn't in fact, I think Freeze is the best head coach for the program; but head coach is the key word, manage the program, the players, be the CEO, but delegate the offense to an offensive counterpart to Wommack.

I'm surprised this narrative isn't being promoted by the fans by-and-large as much... I think it will in the near future.

I feel like Hugh is trolling everyone with that play and Dan is trolling everyone by playing our second team defense. Even though it's one of the best in the nation in the redzone. Mississippi is tGOAT troll state.

I agree - I wonder if Dan's 2nd team defense / hockey line change approach will wane now that the stakes are ratcheting up...
