This is not our year. But it's definitely not Decline. LSU flipped a switch-personnel wise and schematically. They were a disorganized mess-they got some young bucks in the game, benched some guys that were struggling, they improved and hit their stride. The UF win, for as much as people derided it, was CRUCIAL. And now it's time to get the last three and a bowl...

IMO both teams just stopped the power run, that was the key on defense.

Agree - I think both committed to stopping the run and we didn't execute well enough throwing the ball. On the other side, we were gashed through the gut in both. Also:

State - made a goal line stand in the 1st qtr that really hurt and Dak played incredible.

Auburn - could've been 80-0. It was that bad.

Since, our D has improved big time in the middle with Beckwith but also with getting Thomas and Bain in the DT rotation. On O, we're running better but long way to go throwing it.

What are you talking about? AU fans blustered about them being a different team after the LSU game for a year. The same applies to LSU this year, without the championship most likely.

Dak doesn't have all the long runs. Takes pressure off secondary to contain running plays

It's difficult to pick just one problem with those two games. We were really bad on both sides of the ball. If I had to pick one thing, it would be LB play. We were really soft up the middle. If we had been playing up front back then like we have been the past couple of weeks, we would have beaten MSU and kept it closer against Auburn.

Well, yeah, that was kind of the point.

Awesome responses so far tigers. I didn't get a chance to watch either game so I figured i'd ask. Thank you for the replies.

So why say AU fans didn't get to use it then? Most LSU fans acknowledged it to be true.

Really? The whole "stiff dew" thing has been a running joke the whole year. It's just humorous that LSU fans are using the experience line like AU did after laughing at AU fans for doing the same.

Auburn was the one that whined about last year's game that LSU dominated until the second half

No one has said anything about LSU and Auburn this year - Auburn dominated that game and I don't think there is a whole lot LSU could have done to be competitive in that game.

Getting them early was great too
yep. Played in our favor last year vs. Auburn, played in Auburn's favor this year.

They are young on the defensive side of the ball and it takes experience and discipline to stop the type of offense that MSU and AU run. OM has a one dimensional offense that is much easier to stop with just talent and little experience. You just cover the receivers and put pressure on Bo because the run threat is non existent

No they didn't. Maybe sensible fans did, which there are few on here.

Most of the LSU shite talking came once AU fans started claiming them would kill LSU in a rematch.

I've seen several LSU fans, myself included, say catching AU early last year was a blessing. AU and State can say the same about LSU this year.

I'll say what most LSU fans wont

They are much better than us this year and still are. Ole Miss is a fraud, we exposed that, this was apparent before we even played them. Bama played an absolute horrible game against ole miss (beat themselves....and I fricking hate saying that about bama but its true this time). If we played State and Auburn again, the same results would occur.

State is the real deal.

I am afraid bama will put us back to reality next weekend. I hate feeling that way, but I just believe it to be true.

Every LSU fan I have seen here gives Auburn credit for blowing LSU out. Auburn is clearly the better team.

Last year, Auburn fans were trying to diminish LSU's victory with excuses.

If you don't think that LSU is better on defense now than they were a month ago, I don't know what to tell you. There have been personnel changes and true freshmen are gaining experience.

Are you one of those people that believe that college football teams NEVER improve over the course of a season or that LSU cannot possibly get better?

For what it's worth, if LSU and Auburn played right now, I still think that Auburn would win the game. I think that it would be closer than 41-7, but I think that Auburn is the better team. That goes for Miss. St. too.

So, unlike Auburn fans last year, I do not see LSU fans trying to take anything away from Auburn. We are simply saying that LSU is better now than they were then because LSU is very young and it was early in the season. That was our biggest problem with both Auburn and State.
