Scouts Inc.'s Kevin Weidl believes Auburn LB Kris Frost has taken a big step forward this year.

Weidl has also been impressed with Frost's linebacker teammate Kassinova McKinzy, saying the duo is "instinctive and physical." Frost produced a good performance against FSU in last year's national Championship game against FSU and seems to be building on it.

TFY Draft Insider's Tony Pauline writes that Auburn redshirt junior OLB Kris Frost has exceeded his optimistic expectations.

"Frost caught my eye during the summer when I graded him as a late round pick but the junior has exceeded expectations in the early going," Pauline wrote. "The athletic linebacker prospect displayed pass rush prowess in the victory over Kansas State, totaling 2 sacks and 2 tackles for loss to go along with 6 tackles. Frost projects as a weak-side prospect and has consistently shown skill making plays in pass coverage but the newest element of his game, rushing the passer, will further boost his draft stock." CBS Sports' Rob Rang believes the 6-foot-2, 234-pound Frost "must continue to add upper body strength and learn to use his hands better to disengage."

CBS Sports' Rob Rang believes Auburn redshirt junior OLB Kris Frost, is a "future NFL selection," and the "most intriguing" defensive talent on the Tigers defense.

"The Tigers' defense, however, may boast even more future NFL selections with junior linebacker Kris Frost perhaps the most intriguing,"Rang wrote. The 6-foot-2, 234-pound Frost, played "a critical role in helping to "freeze" Kansas State's quarterback Jake Waters," according to Rang. Moving forward, Rang thinks the Auburn prospect "must continue to add upper body strength and learn to use his hands better to disengage."

IMO, Kris Frost should have started over Jake Holland last year and played a lot more. He and Cass McKinzy are the best linebacker duo Auburn has had in quite some time. Both have had their derp moments, but overall, both have been very impressive and scouts agree. IMO, Kris Frost has received some unnecessary hate in the past...

Stats (2014): 37 tackles, 5.5 tackles for loss, 2 sacks, 6 QB hurries, 2 forced fumbles and 3 passes broken up

Don't get me wrong, I would love to see him drafted...but I would prefer him stay another year. Auburn has a lot of Juniors that could leave early.

I have not been upset with them this year. If you add in our average DL play, they are probably having to do more than they should.

He would be a middle round pick. Needs to come back for one more year

We need both McKinzy and Frost to stay next year badly.

Agreed. If he comes back, he has a very real shot of being a pretty early round pick, I'd he keeps improving like he is now.

Just yesterday he was projected in the 2nd round. If I have the opportunity to take the money and not risk injury I'm going and I don't blame Frost if he does.

Exactly, if he is projected 2-3 I would be gone myself. Avg NFL career is 3.3 yrs, avg LB career is 5.59 yrs.

I see Frost as having 1st round talent if he fixes up some weaknesses. If he comes back and has an All SEC type year, he goes 1st which should be attractive.

So wouldn't you want your rookie contract worth 2-3 million$ more?

Guys like Tre Mason have a ceiling on where they are picked. A guy like Frost who has all the athletic potential can benefit by going from "project" to sure thing
