So when Gurley breaks a 60 yard TD against Auburn you're not going to be the least bit happy, will you boo him after he scores? Get the frick out of here. And it's not really pot meets kettle in the regard that Gurley manned up and owned the shite and we didn't sweep it under the rug frickface.

He manned up and owned it only because his arse was busted. He was warned to stop doing this stuff but chose to continue.

Would send a pretty clear message.

He could've tried denying it and UGA couldve swept it under the rug like pretty much every major school has done at some point and time in the last 10 years.

Like that's gonna happen at UGA. Bottom line, Gurley knowingly broke the rules. He continued to break them even after being warned to stop. He should be dismissed from the team just like the drug users who have been busted multiple times.

That is just outrageous, the kid comes from a poor family and made a mistake. He's part of the 0.1% who gets caught doing what he did. What he did was wrong but I certainly see how he thought he could get by without getting caught after seeing very recent examples of people who beat the system. JFC yall are nuts

This. And one could speculate that he lied to Richt about it only being that one time. Which explains UGA's reaction to this whole little fun deal.

Don't bring that poor family crap into this. How many of the athletes come from poor families?

I disagree that he should be kicked off the team. The nature of the offense was profiting off of his likeness (signature), which is morally-neutral by itself, unlike sexual assault, battery, or even doing drugs (I don't think it is morally wrong by itself, but others do).

He broke the rules (multiple times), and the NCAA is punishing him for it, but the nature of his violation doesn't warrant immediate dismissal, IMO.

It's only a mistake if you do it once. After that, it becomes a habit. He said to hell with the team, I wanna get paid. Good riddance!

A lot, and Gurley was in a position to do something about it, something that I'm sure every top athlete in the nation has done at some point, he'll I'm sure there are more people on the team who have done it.

Or we could not speculate and go by the facts we actually know about this case, just a fun suggestion.

And once again, he has shown is lack of caring by continuing to do so. How many times has he lied about it? I am in agreement with the other poster who said he only confessed because he got caught.

That's a rectum derived accusation. You don't know what actually happened, so stop pulling random accusations out of your arse and go by what the NCAA and UGA have said

None of us know the answer to that, or even know if he ever did.

Oh, frick on a stick. He broke a foolish rule that is inherently wrong and will be changed next year. You guys need to get off your high fricking horses and cut him some slack.

Maybe you should read this. It says he did this multiple times over multiple years. How is that an assumption or baseless accusation?

Where does that say he lied about it?

But he broke the rule regardless. And knowingly so over a period of years. And he continuned to do so, regardless of any consequence to him or the team.

Of course, the rule is stupid, but it is still on the books and is enforced. Should UGA have just continued playing him regardless of that "foolish rule" as you say? He knew what he was doing and what would happen. Yet he continued.
