I'm a Gurley fan after the way he handled it. I do agree he should say F the NCAA and sit out.

This. Yes, it limits his risk of injury and can therefore be seen as rational, but there's a lot more to play for than that. Why doesn't every senior/junior with high draft stock just refuse to play in final games then? That's how ridiculous this sounds to me. There 'a risk in every snap of football and every player knows that. If his team was playing with everything on the line and his last chances to play for his school, teammates, and fans was looming and he chose not to under the pretense of minimizing any possibility of injury, I'd say that would be pretty damning on his character. You can blow a knee out training or practicing. Risk is omnipresent in football and most all high level competitive sports.

You gotta be an optimist when you're planning your life. Gurley should definitely come back and play because they are seriously in the title hunt. He is risking money lost from injury (and who knows what amount of money he would or wouldn't make different than if he wasn't injured.) versus missing out on being a part of a college national championship.

If he wants a big character boost he will return and play at risk of injury with his team. I think pulling out of the season completely would be a huge mistake in the eyes of the NFL decision makers and the UGA faithful, teammates, and coaches.
I could also see his point of view of preserving his health for his chosen career if that is something he is truly considering at this point. He put himself in a tough situation by poor choices. Hope he learned something more than just being angry at being caught.

Probably already said but I agree if UGA loses eiither of the next two. Pointless for him to return.
I wonder if at some point in a time an entire team stands by their star player in one of these ridiculous situations and refuse to play.

also, I would imagine that many NFL GMs also agree with the sentiment "frick the NCAA". Nobody likes them. I think people would like to hear them called out and held accountable for how shitty of an organization they are
