This initial playoff ruling means nothing.

EXCEPT for one really big thing. We win we are in. We don't have to worry about style points now. Everyone already knew a loss means we are done, but now a 1 point victory doesn't seem so worrisome. I think that is a LOT of pressure off.

What, to not lose? I think that was already there. A loss ended it no matter what.

ETA: I do believe it confirms a great deal of pressure to win, but, again, nothing that wasn't already there. Win your in. That wasnt the belief always.

Every ranking they put out this year means something. This year sets a precedent for all future years in this system

And we play them. A loss and we are done. We were worried that if we won out we still might not make the play off. It has been confirmed tonight, we win, even if ugly, we are in.

I agree, for the fact stated above. Just win.

Helped Ole Miss. Also shows head to head and schedule strength is included.

Seeing how they treated Ole Miss it seems that when you lose doesn't seem to matter. And where you lose does.

How you lose matters to. The ND loss to FSU is considered a "very good loss" by the committee. If they'd have gotten beaten by 25, I'm sure that would have outweighed the fact that they lost on the road.

"Good" road losses are certainly better than home losses and good road wins are big too. Our K St win is helping us big time right now.
