Why not wait until a week or 2 out like all other weekends? If they have first pick, why predetermine and not leave your options open. Is it part of the deal with SEC/ESPN that they have to go ahead and pick some of the games pre-season?

Before anyone talks about UGA/Florida being a huge ratings draw. I get it. It is a big draw regardless of teams records. I am more curious why they would predetermine any of the games pre-season when they can have 1st pick 2 weeks out. Doesn't make sense to me.

The only important thing they pick before the season is the weekend of their afternoon/eventing double header. It has been LSU Bama the past four years I believe because it is always the most intriguing game going into the season. It just so happens that this year, it continues to be a pivotal game in the race for the west.

No they picked SC/UGA preseason and the WLOCP as well, and also picked the doubleheader weekends (no teams)
