Even Mizzou? Lose to Indiana at home, blown out by UGA.

Follow along. Mizzou wins out. Auburn beats UGA. Mizzou beats West representative in ATL.

I know, I know. It's not going to happen. Hypothetical though. SEC champ an auto bid? I personally think they would take a 1 loss west rep who didn't win the division in that case.

24-10

Back to the point though. Let's say both MSU and Old Miss win out up until the Egg bowl. Ole Miss wins. Mizzou beats Ole Miss

I think they would take Miss St in that scenario over Mizzou.

I don't think Mizzou could make the playoff, even with a SECCG victory.

Like Jeff Long said, I think the bottom line is they aren't considering conferences, period - whether for or against. That's why the SEC has 3 of the top 4. It's basically how does your entire body of work stand up to the teams around you in the rankings.

Doubtful there will be a 2 loss team in this year. Too many one-loss teams.

The committee is going about the whole process the right way, which is encouraging.

I don't either, and I wouldn't even be mad about it.

Indiana loss is too bad.

Yea, I think the IU, is the death kneel. Look at how they punished tOSU, for the Hokie loss. Granted, y'all winning the SEC, would give y'all more quality wins.

No doubt. State would have the more impressive resume.

Of course, it would also depend on who State's resume is up against in the other Power 5.

I didn't get to hear him speak, and I know conference championships were one of the original stated criteria but I agree...seeing 3 SEC teams in the initial poll tells me that it's not going to weigh heavily.

UGA could and would make it (assuming we win out regular season). I think Mizzou is too far gone at this point.

Rece Davis asked him about the committee's consideration of the Big-12 and it's respect vs. the SEC's since TCU was the highest rated team at No. 7.

Long basically told him that conference strength isn't even discussed. It's all about individual teams.

I think conference championships will only be considered if wins, OOC schedule, and quality of loss is equal. Very rarely is that the case.

ETA: To add to that, those OOC wins the SEC had early in the season were absolutely HUGE in the placing of the teams. At K-State, WVU, Wisky, Clemson, etc. were way more impressive than anything any other conference did. It is what is able to justify LSU being a decent win or Auburn being a great win for MSU. Bama being a good win for Ole Miss... etc. etc.

Agreed. I think of the teams still technically alive, Only Mizzou wouldn't get in.

I think LSU would go with 2 losses though. Not sure UGA would with two losses, but would with one for sure.

I don't think so. I think a one loss power 5 champ gets in over a 1 loss sec or SECw runner up, which is complete bullshite and contrary to what they've said they'll do.

Arky

Combined SEC record=4-14

Not saying we will, but it's not out of the question. We could lose to any of them, or beat any of them.

Why do you even raise a moronic a scenario like this? Stop it!
IT'S NOT GONNA HAPPEN

Cannot stand this moronic playoff scenario talk with over a MONTH to go in the season
