What about this scenario? Georgia loses to Auburn but wins the East. Ole Miss wins out. Alabama wins out. Ole Miss loses to Georgia in the SEC Championship game.
FSU remains undefeated. TCU wins the BIG 12 with one loss. Oregon wins the PAC 12 with one loss. The BIG 10 has a two loss champ in MSU.
Does the selection committee take a 2 loss SEC Champ in Georgia or a 1 loss Bama team with wins over a #1 Miss St and a top 10 AU team and top 20 LSU? Or none of the above?
