I am thinking of making some homemade apple infused bourbon as housewarming/holiday gifts this season. We went to the apple orchard in North Georgia and we have about a bushel of fuji, Corail and honey crisp apples fresh off the tree 4 days ago.
I have a recipe off Southern living. Anybody have any homemade proven recipes to share on this?
if it works out well, I was thinking that eventually we might make other flavors of infused bourbons for gift packs to friends.

That's a fun idea.
This time of year I really like apple flavors. I've been putting a shot of fireball in a beer glass and then filling it with cider to give it a nice cinnamon apple flavor.

Actually you are not far off my personal idea, which is to take a airplane bottle of fireball bourbon and put it in with a pint of regular bourbon (Evan Williams etc. nothing super high end) and some frozen apple juice concentrate. Then stick a peeled apple and a cinnamon stick in the jar and let it marinate a month. Sorta where I am going with this.
