For whatever reason, State fans are more obsessed with this than we are. So what if that was where the name originated anyway?
LSU's mascot is derived from a confederate regiment. But nobody gives a damn. We have recruits and players who are coming to our school and don't give a shite where the name originated from. Time to give up on the good fight coach. Trying to claim our name is racist isn't going to keep people away.

the gist of it is they were part of Ole Miss until they were kicked of Oxford and banished to a town known today as Starkville.
