Pretty sure Petrino's buyout is astronomical. If he hopped on Louisville again this quick he can also forget anyone ever taking him seriously again

I'm hearing Bob Stoops and Steve Spurrier are the top 2, followed by Dan Mullen.

Personally, I want Stoops or Chip Kelly

I honestly think if they threw the house at Gary Patterson, they should be able to get him. If it were me, he would probably be my first choice of realistic options.

you don't want spur at FL

chip kelly should be the #1 option but not realistic

then I'd shoot for stoops or patterson. maybe Smart?

Why would Stoops leave Oklahoma for Florida?? Give me a break.. At best that's a lateral move... Plus Stoops has gone on record with saying that he hates teh SEC...

The whole Spurrier phenomenon goes like this:
Spurrier comes home, gets the program on the right track, makes Florida feared again, gets players, fans, and recruits excited, coaches for 3-4 years, gets Florida on it's feet, maybe wins an SEC championship or something, and retires off in the sunset to forever be the man who saved Florida football (twice). Then after he has retired, Florida will still be a powerhouse and there will be a up and coming coach out there who is ready for a big job like UF (see Urban Meyer at Utah in 2004) and he will be the next head coach at UF.

I don't think this happens, but this will be the plan IF Spurrier were to come back.

Briles, Patterson, Rich Rod, Mora. The top 4 that UF might have a shot at getting. No way Petrino bails on UL again.

Because he used to coach at Florida, he's been at Oklahoma for 16 years now and may be looking for the change, and he has shown interest in the job before.

Don't people always hate on what they aren't apart of? I'm sure with a little bit of $ his opinion of the SEC will change drastically.

Spurrier has already addressed this.

He said he plans on returning to Florida but only for retirement purposes. His final gig in coaching will be at SCar. That's per him, though. We all know how coaches deny, deny, deny then bolt.

I just don't see Spurrier going back on his word, though. He seems like he has more integrity than that. I sure hope so, anyway.

I hate to break it to you, but Spurrier will always be a Gator at heart. And no matter how much he says he loves Carolina and Carolina will be his last job, I won't believe it until the man is dead and gone. Not saying that I want Spurrier as my top choice for coaching candidates, but I think anything any coach says should be taken with a grain of salt.

Besides Mullen.

Isn't happening. Foley won't offer it to Mullen and Mullen won't accept it as long as Foley is there.
