...on game weekends when they are not playing each other? Wasn't sure how common this is for other schools. Ive never personally noticed it at an away game.

is there a story behind this? I'm guessing some of the radicalized bammers were doing this.

Yeah, I stay the entire weekend in town a few times a year, this past one being one of them. There were tons of bama fans driving around both Friday and Saturday, cheering, singing fight songs, yelling Roll Tide etc...

I wasnt sure if it was common anywhere else. It happens at Auburn, pretty much every home game

It happens quite a bit in Tuscaloosa also. Especially if ESPN is here, then you will always see Auburn fans with their big flags and stuff right out front taking up space that should be for Bama fans or fans of the team that we are playing.

There also seems to be some weird bama obsession with going to Auburn away/bowl games and wearing all of their Bama gear. Saw 4-6 Bama fans dressed in their game day stuff in Starkville this year. Be willing to bet I will see some in Oxford this weekend as well.

I don't recall ever seeing them at away/bowl games, but I am always amazed at the Bama fans that come to JHS supporting the other team, no matter who it is. A good friend who is a Bama alum came to the Auburn/Buffalo game a few years back dressed in bison blue. When USF came to town there were several self professed Bama fans dressed in green and had even learned the USF fight song.

But then again Bama fans are an odd lot in general. I had one friend post on Facebook after the game in Pasadena in January that he was actually more excited to see FSU beat us than he was to see Bama beat ND the year before.

I go to a lot of away games, and honestly can't think of many that we didn't see bama fans in their colors. Last year at the UGA game, there was a group of about 6 walking down Mell dressed for a Bama home game. Strange creatures.

It's stupid imho. I've been to 2 Bama games that didn't involve Auburn and didn't wear Auburn stuff. I don't get it, your team isn't playing, don't act like a douche.

We have a couple of bama fans that tailgate near by us, that wear their gear, but they are there with Auburn people.

Clemson does it to us bc they miss their daddy, Spurrier, in the long stretch between November games.

And they want to see what real football is like in a real conference.

When I was in school in Tuscaloosa (and when I go back to games now), I see LSU fans walking around the quad almost every weekend. Now that I'm at Miss State for school, I see the same thing nearly every week in the Junction.

I see other schools, but LSU seems to be the most common for me. Maybe its because the purple and gold usually sticks out more than other colors.

I don't really mind them. It usually just is someone who is from the area and wants to enjoy the tailgating scene without driving too far. I cant blame them.

I know an Auburn fan who wore a Notre Dame jersey for 15 years after ND beat Alabama in 1973! Talk about being a douche.

I have gone with Auburn friends to a game that did not involve Bama, and they teased me because I did not wear anything Bama. I told them that I was not crazy, and figure when you're outnumbered by that many people, you should just try to blend in. I didn't wear red, but I didn't wear orange and blue either. I can't imagine wearing the other team's gear in Auburn's stadium. That would be just tacky, especially if you went to the game with Auburn fans that are your friends. I don't intentionally try to be rude to my Auburn friends, we just disagree that one game a year.
