The Circle Drill is better than anything the MDB does at halftime.
Again, their pregame routine is so much better and original than what the MDB does with the Big Bama Spellout. Hell, at the very least the UT band actually marches.
Not hating on the MDB because I know they work hard, but it constantly gets outperformed by other SEC Bands.

To be fair, we put emphasis on Football at Bama. I could honestly give 0 damns if we had the worst band in the SEC.
If football starts to suck, then I'll give some time to bitch about the band.

Not a big fan of it myself. If the team really did just beat the hell out of the opponent, the scoreboard and play on the field should do the talking.
If you sing it after winning by single digits, you look like an idiot. It's also embarrassing how many people don't even know the fight song, but by all means they'll sing their lungs out for Rammer Jammer.

It be cool if they didn't play it every year. You could tell they spend a lot of time on that because their other shows leave a lot to be desired, just like everyone else.
And what's so special about it? The fact that they spell out "Vols" and have a power T? What's different between that and spelling out Bama and making a script A, other than the fact that they move it down the field? Also not many bands form an elephant and move it down the field soooooo.
Also we do march. It's called core style marching. Every high school and college marching band outside of the B1G marches core. Every dci band marches core too.
Also we're just as good as any and every band in the SEC. Can't really compare us to A&M because what they do is unique to them, but we hold our own against LSU and Auburn. And there have even been threads on tigerdroppings where they were saying their band sucks this year.

While we're on the topic of pregames and other associated stuff, I wish we would get rid of our mascot that looks like a child's stuffed animal. Big Al is an utterly pathetic mascot, IMO...especially when you compare it to the Oregon Duck and (puke) Aubie. It's bad enough that he looks like something you'd find in a child's crib, but he has zero personality, in the sense of what you'd like to see a good college mascot to have. Cuddly and loveable looking makes for a shitty mascot.

Think of it as beating the hell out of them emotionally. Hell, losing the nailbiters hurts way more than a blowout sometimes, imo.
