I compiled these from various places tonight and though y'all would enjoy them. Hot damn, the future is bright!

--@Vol_Football: #Vols 383 yards are their most vs Alabama since 492 vs the Tide in the 5 OT game in 2003.

--@Vol_Football: #Vols 20 points are most vs Alabama in regulation since they also had 20 vs Tide in that 2003 game at end of regulation. (OUCH. But still).

--Marquez North: Josh (Dobbs) is my roommate and one of my best friends. The chemistry with him has always been there.

--From the 2nd quarter onward we outscored Bama 20-14.

--Josh Malone got his very first TD tonight!

--Leonard Little speaks out: @DBL_L_01: Never been more proud of a bunch of guys.. Keep grinding cause good days r ahead..#Vols#VFL#GBO

--Tennessee rushed for a season-high 183 yards against the Crimson Tide, who entered the game with the nation’s No. 2 rushing defense.
No team previously had rushed for more than 107 yards against Alabama this season.

Gotta love it. What we saw wasn't a mass delusion after all.

No game with Kiffykins would be complete with a classic Kiffin slimeball move:

quote:

Blake Sims’ 80-yard touchdown pass to Amari Cooper on Alabama’s first play ... It was a bit of a controversial play from Tennessee’s standpoint. Vols coach Butch Jones said Cooper entered the game as a late substitution just before the snap, and UT’s defense didn’t have time to adjust. Regardless, the play stood and Alabama led 6-0 less than three minutes into the game, and the Crimson Tide pulled away to a 27-0 advantage early in the second quarter.

That should've been caught by officials but it wasn't. IDK why the best conference can't have the best refs but stuff like this is typical of their overall officiating. And no, I'm not blaming the refs for the loss but the incompetence of SEC officials has got to improve. Too many games and teams have gotten jobbed by sheer incompetence.

But wait there's more:

--OL gave up only 2 sacks despite losing 2 starters!

--Dobbs would've been given credit for over 100 yds rushing but lost 25 yds because of those sacks.

--Bama's D is ranked/performed like this:
----- 3rd nationally in scoring defense, giving up only 13.1 ppg.
----- Is rated 2nd nationally in rushing defense.
----- 3rd in Total Defense (262.1 ypg)
----- Has only allowed 11 TDs all year (that includes the TDs we scored!).
----- Has only given up 5 TDs in which drives were 70 yds or more. (We had 2 TD drives and both were ~84 yds!)

**** ------ Speaking of their D, we are 2nd in total offense (production) against Bama this year. Only WVU put up more total yardage against BAMA. However, that was Bama's first game and a game their defense was not only bad/flat in but also one that featured a Bama D nowhere as close to the one we just faced. WVU put up 393 yds. UT put up 383 yds and remember we lost 25 yds in the stats dept. to those two sacks!
**** ----- We did this to Bama's defense with a bad line, zero depth, and a QB who hadn't seen snaps all year! Oh and Hurd and others fought the flu all week.

Tons of work is still ahead but there's lot's to be pleased about after this game.

I'm not big on moral victories, but I was extremely pleased to see the team fight back and make a game out of it when they started down 27-0. Would have been very easy to roll over and they didn't.
