Anybody else shocked at how well AJ Derby has played TE this year?

Bret says he reminds him of Dallas Clark.

I am, simply because I figured the coaches talking him up in preseason was nothing more than empty coachspeak.

I would say pleasantly surprised, yes. Hats off to CBB & co. for putting him in that position.

No. There's coach speak and then a coach flat out saying that a player would be the story of the year at a position. It seemed clear that he was going to legit.

He is playing really well

Hats off to him. He really is a great story in our program. Glad he stuck with us and glad to see he is being rewarded

I am. He's a stud. He's exactly how I envision us using Austin Cantrell. And that is gonna be

except Austin will play both ways and win the Heissy for a playoff Arkansas team by catching 10+ TDs, receiving 500+ yards, running for 6+ TDs and > 500 yards, scoring 2 TD's on ST trick plays, 30+ tackles, 7 sacks, 2 INT, 3 FF, 2 rec, 1 Def TD.

maybe my expectations could be tempered a bit.

He's a fricking beast. Still bet we'd have more wins with him at QB than BA.

I am somewhat tempted to agree. But this is a much better position for him to play. The way he has been going he might just earn a shot at the NFL and I don't think anyone thought that would happen at the beginning of the season.

Agree. He now has a chance to play at the next level. Hell of an athlete.

Brandon Allen through 4 SEC games last year: 39%, 3 TDs, 6 INTs

Brandon Allen through 4 SEC games this year: 57%, 7 TDs, 4 INTs

just for some perspective....

Perhaps we can give BA a break for a week at least...

Pleasantly surprised.
Sounds like he is getting noticed by the NFL scouts.
