Does Archie Manning leaving the Playoff Committee hurt the SEC's chance of two teams in?
Appears that only two folks remaining have direct southern ties (Long and Radakovich). None directly to the SEC.

It shouldn't hurt us. Everyone on the committee is completely unbiased. Plus they aren't allowed to comment on any team they are affiliated with. Of course they can beat up any team that is competing with an affiliated team, which is really the same thing.
So we should be safe.
So we should be safe.

Any chance y'all think a two loss SEC Champion UGA gets in?
If we lose to Auburn and SEC West Champ has one loss already and we give them their second do we get in over all the West teams?
This committee and playoff just might cause more controversy than the BCS

I'll bet dollars to donuts that nearly every one of these assclowns is a Liberal with small-man syndrome and they'll do everything in their power to stick it to the big kid on the block if they can help it.
Every poll in the universe could have four 0 to 1 loss SEC teams as its top-4 ranked and this committee is going to find a way to only let one of them in the playoff. The only way two SEC teams get in is if every other big-5 conference leader has 2 losses.
And just watch what happens when a non-big-5 conference team is undefeated and the SEC has a couple 1-loss teams that don't make it as a result. It's gonna happen and people are going to flip the frick out. Just watch and see.

This.
I also think it is a terrible idea for them to put out rankings.
Perception, style, geography, politics, and so much will go into each person selecting their 4 teams in.
I wonder if the 4 in are necessarily the top 4 in the overall rankings?
I can see where simply averaging it out among the remaining 12 members could create some serious controversy.

I think yes BUT they are gonna have to already be up in the rankings. IE...not Mizz.

Scenario:
Imagine a no loss Ole Miss playing a one loss UGA in the SECCG.
Meanwhile, a one loss Alabama sits idle.
UGA wins the game in a close one.
Going into the game, Ole Miss would be ranked #1 and UGA likely 4-6.
AL would be #3 most likely in rankings.
Under the "best 4" scenario, it would be?:
FSU-Undefeated and conf champ
UGA-1 loss and SEC Champ
Ole Miss?-One loss only but beat AL, SECW champ
AL?-One loss but only to Ole Miss
Oregon?-Arizona State loss
Clearly if they went with "best 4" it would be 3 SEC teams.

For sure, for sure only 1 SEC team in and none if all have at least 2 losses.
It stands to be a pretty good cluster frick.

ESPN set this 4 team playoff in motion when they set up the Bama/ LSU
Repeat for the Natty ...no way Bama should have been in the game simply because they lost to LSU earlier.....that was the "for sure " way to finally push a play off to all the SEC haters

Bad idea IMHO. As preached on ESPN this morning, there will be a strong bias towards balanced regional representation. In other words the winners of conference championships will likely be selected unless one of them has 2 or more losses. I think the Big 12 is at a distinct disadvantage in not having a championship game.
