Those of you with faith Bert will find SEC wins with Allen at the helm this year, please refrain from your inevitable comments. I'd rather look forward to a sport Arkansas may actually be relevant in...which is hopefully this soon approaching hoops season

I think it was huge to win away from Fayetteville last year. Now our road woes are not all everyone talks about. Instead they talk about hopes of making the tourney and our veteran point scorers coming back this year.

It is my firm belief that this change in narrative is exactly what the team needed to finally put this curse in the rearview mirror. student-ATHLETES are sometimes weak minded and emotional kids (shocker) and I think the recent road woes were a mental carryover from when they were formerly due to a lack of talent

I also think a postseason visit and not losing right away helped this team significantly. They can compete this year, but now they have a "history" of a team that compete and something they can look back on and say "we did it before" when times get tough

with allen + Chaney + left over petrino defensive recruits it doesn't look good

yup

can only imagine the uproar if we hadn't. probably close to the same it will be this offseason if bert doesn't win an SEC game

I personally think if we make the tournament this year it should be considered a success. I know a lot of people are counting on Beard, but I just don't feel comfortable depending on a true freshman PG to the point where I'm counting us in as auto a tourny team.

With college BB the way it is today, you'd BETTER be able to win with a Frosh PG or any other position.... because there's no guarantee you will have him very long if he's any good.... not saying Beard is an NBA player... just that the old "program guy" montra isn't really relevant in today's game like it used to be.
We'd better win a LOT this year... because barring major suckage Portis will be a millionaire next year.

Durham will play point as well. Madden can handle it in small doses. Dont know about Babb, dont trust anthlon. We're gonna be fine there.

Gotta keep Madden and Qualls happy, and hopefully Bobby balls out and is a legit leader in the locker room since coty is gone.

I am really looking forward to a season without missed Alandise Harris dunks

Hopefully he never touches the ball on the offensive end in the second half of any games. Guy is a liability when shooting or even dribbling

Our league schedule is cake this year. Two edged sword though. It will likely kill our RPI with any losses in league to crappy teams.

I've got us going 12-1 to start the season and then going 15-3 in league play.

I tried this without homer goggles, but you honestly take a look at our home schedule in league play and we should win each game by double digits. Home league slate is terrible.

Road slate is tough. I've got losses at UK, UGA and Ole Miss. I have Florida as a win, mainly because I feel we will have one huge road win this season. It's either them, Iowa State, or UK. Florida looks like the best bet to me.

So, 27-4 and just looking at that record makes me feel like a homer...but honestly, our league schedule is downright laughable. Even if we slipped up a couple times, we sit at 25-6 or 24-7.

That seriously looks like a homer post...but damn I didn't realize we only play contenders UK and UF once this year. That kills us on RPI.

We can't screw around OOC because we have no pick me ups in league play.

Wake,mSMU, Iona, Iowa State, Clemson, Dayton are good quality RPI teams though. So that helps.

No way we go 27-4 but I don't see a lot of losses on that schedule. We always do seem to screw something up though. We shall see.

27-4 is straight crazy talk.

23 wins is where I could see the regular season total being. Could be 18 or 19 too.

I would dearly love to go 27-4. I would still be quite pleased with 24-25 winning total this year. The schedule appears to be set up nicely to put together some runs where we rack up a lot of wins in a row.

I don't think we have all the pieces to the puzzle just yet so I think a 24-7 record seems likely. It is still a step up for the program and a sign that we are turning the corner.

Hopefully losing at Iowa state won't bring back the shitty road game team for the rest of the year.

If Arkansas wins or how bad they lose should be a pretty good indicator for the rest of the season.

It'll be a good season. we're good on paper just need to win more on the road, especially against terrible teams.
wish we had the indoor practice facility ready to go already.

The lack of neutral sites sucks.

Every road game outside of Auburn is in a tough environment, tough to win at.

Don't believe me just look at the struggles of "elite" teams at Clemson and SCAR the past few years.

Looking forward to it, but we have to make the tournament this year. 4 years with no tourney and Anderson should feel the heat.
