I've seen and heard a lot of FSU fans comparing their defense of Jameis by saying AU fans did the same with Cam. First, two completely different situations. Second, and I may be wrong, but I don't remember anyone really defending Cam. Most of the AU fans I know were enjoying the season and praying it wasn't true. Is my memory skewed?

I am aware of a little trolling that went on around here, but trolling is trolling

If Cam was a rapist, I would've joined the haters. To hell with rapists!

I feel ATPB was more juicy than this Jameis crap. I mean "the money was too much", audio tapes, debit cards, casino slot machines, $180k, John Bond, and the list goes on. It was the most ridiculous shite ever. Looking back on it, that shite was funny but the rapist thing seems way worse because that one seems likely that its true. The CAM shite was bullshite.

There was plenty of auburn fans defending Cam. Lots of hand wringing too...and of course plenty, 'well why shouldn't they get paid' deflection.

Also this:

It was the most ridiculous shite ever.

It got really easy to debunk shite because it got so off the wall. Somehow the heisman leader, qb of a top 5 school and of course eventual sec and national champion getting paid 180k wasn't enough, there had to be dead bodies to maintain the interest of that window licking crowd.

The Cam situation naturally lead to inferences and innuendos which media and rant idots alike could run with with no credibility concerns. It was open season to create stories.

Jameis's issues are to tailored and directed, not too mention he's got a long list running of dumbass moves. That guys just a friggin idiot.

ETA: so I guess to answer your question i think we did defend Cam because the rumors out there seemed so outlandish that we knew none could be proven. I dont see how you defend that tPOS winston.

The Jameis stuff is justified by his many transgressions

ATPB was a pipedream conspiracy theory put together by BTT and supported by many Bama and LSU fans

ATPB went way beyond what most of the nation thought which was just that Cecil was paid

There was nothing natural about the progression of that situation. If we're still talking about ATPB, that is.

I'm to this day fascinated with the unique ways posters tried to tie stuff together.

This place was terrible. Basically, anyone could post any rumor they read on twitter, and the rant tards took it as the truth. ATPB is the main reason I will stop posting on the AU board if we open it up to other fans. The next time we have a bad season, or some bullshite story pops up by yahoo sports, the true colors of our rivals will come out.

Didn't you have a sig at the time of the "the NCAA won't touch us"

Or something to that effect?

That one always got a rise out of the...lets call them 'most invested' because it's down syndrome awareness month so I won't call them retards.

Two completely different issues between JW and Cam, and I don't recall any of us defending anything because what was there to defend? I remember just arguing the accusations and wanting proof. I remember many of times Auburn fans saying IF TRUE blah blah blah.

I think as time wore on we were all just laughing at everyone and we started realizing everything was BS. I remember bringing the hammer when all the accusations were being crushed one by one.

Other fans were so pissed off when nothing was going to happen to Auburn. It was glorious

Yep

That was my sig from the first leaks of information to the day I got to proudly start the thread saying the NCAA had cleared us

I believe some Bama and LSU posters had taken that and made it a quote from me as their sigs so they could go "hahaha this guys delusional"

That's pretty much it. We didn't exactly want proof, but knew it was a possibility. Heisman or not, had Cam been accused of all the shite Jameis has, no way I'd stand behind him or Gus.

I can honestly say I've never seen two different wrong uses of to/too in a sentence.

Sorry for busting your balls, just had to call it out.

We were defending against anonymous allegations vs actual occurrences and direct accusers, So I'd say there is just bit of a difference

Do I need to quote myself? I said in the OP that they're completely different situations. There's no pleasing you bastards.
