The first time I saw Draconian refer to Tiger Stadium as "one of the most storied venues in college football" I laughed. Do LSU fans realize that prior to 2003, only but the most ardent college football even knew LSU was in Baton Rouge? Before Nick came along, LSU had no more historical relevance than a Syracuse or a TCU. This over-inflated sense of where LSU and Tiger Stadium fit in the college football landscape is humorous*.

SEC Champions in 35, 36, 58, 61, 70, 86, 88, 01

8 of our 11 SEC titles/co-titles come prior to 2003 (including a NC in 58)...and that's no more "historical relevance" than a TCU or Syracuse? Please...

Some of you are really showing your age.

I love it. A lot of Bama fans on here are students of CFB history and I can at least have a mutual respect. Your obviously are not that guy. If you knew anything about the history of your own team it was your own legendary coach, the one you all worship, who said this:

"Baton Rouge happens to be the worst place in the world to be a visiting team." -- The Late Paul "Bear" Bryant, head coach of Kentucky, Texas A&M and Alabama.

Oh but just in case you don't take the old drunks word for it, here's what a couple other pretty decent players and coaches have said over the years ( prior to 2000's btw)

"I stood in Tiger Stadium and I thought, 'This is what the Colosseum in Rome must have been like.'" -- Ed Simonini, Texas A&M linebacker.

"It was like the Colosseum in Rome and we were the Christians." -- The late Bobby Dodd of Georgia Tech.

"Unbelievable, crazy. That place makes Notre Dame seem like Romper Room." -- Brad Budde, USC lineman.

"It makes a body tingle. These folks go berserk when the band marches on the field. A huge roar is heard for the invocation, for heaven's sake. They not only know the words to the national anthem, they sing them, loudly. And when the Tigers win the toss...there are tears of ecstasy." -- Douglas Looney, Sports Illustrated describing a Saturday night in Death Valley.

Yes, that was just good sportsmanship and old time camaraderie. He wasn't a complete retard like Miles. Bryant owned right at two generations of Coonies in their own stadium so, I don't think he was really too worried about Red Stick.

For God's sake, we scheduled y'all for homecoming you sucked so bad. Think about that. To Alabama, LSU was Vanderbilt of today.

Sure, to other teams, LSU might have been important or a big deal, I don't know. To many generations of Alabama fans, LSU was a nobody. Just being honest.

The old drunk, as you fricktards like to refer to him, was 17-4 against your team. fricking jackasses. I shouldn't even be responding to any LSU fans; you aren't worth it.

To many Alabama fans, even to this day, LSU is still considered on the same level as regular Mississippi State or Ole Miss.

In us, Bama fans, you have an elite group that can evenly hold football conversations with the likes of USC, Michigan, Notre Dame, Penn State, etc... and have valid credentials to have those conversations with.

No one else in the SEC can do that. Sorry.

Coonies talk a good game, no doubt. But, that is about it concerning Alabama. They are nothing to us. Alabama looks outside of the SEC for it's competition, historically.

Let's just be honest. In the Tide, the SEC has the most successful team in the history of college football to call it's own.

Our history, as a football team, overrides the South, the SEC, and this area of the country.

We, Alabama fans, own something other SEC teams never will. We own a piece of football history the likes of which isn't obtainable today.

Be proud of that. Don't let these shitheads drag us down to their level, football-wise. We are better than them, all of them.

You know Alabama is going to kick your shite in, right? The ride will be over then.

Let us beat the Billies for about the 30th time in a row and then, after an off week facing the Coonies, we'll rip your hearts out and make you wish you had never had any hope.

Roll Tide!

Then why are you lowering yourself to this level, if you and the rest of grump land are so great? Maybe you should stick to your own board, then we won't have to put up with your superior ego & self importance!!!

And just how many NC's does Penn State actually have???

Should be interesting. IMO Tiger Stadium has turned into the worst stadium in the entire SEC outside of vandy and Kentucky.

Fans aren't loud, they leave at halftime and it is just an embarrassment these days.

However, I've been there when it was about as loud and crazy as any SEC stadium.

I'm thinking it will rise up again this Sat and Piss will have their hands full. Wouldn't be surprised to see lsu win. At all.

Here we are, you & your foolish nonsense again. As you continue to go into this pleasuring ecstasy when speaking Alabama football, your facts & figures are nothing short of misleading. LINK

Alabama has scheduled LSU as their homecoming opponent a total of 5 times (1920, 1922, 1926, 1947, 2001) & we've opened the season 4 times (1944, 1957, 1958, 1981). You're 2-1-3 while playing us during homecoming & 1-2-1 while playing us as your season opener. Why couldn't Alabama get it done against a "Vanderbilt" type team? Should have been an easy W

Homecoming
1920 Tie 7-7
1922 Win 30-3
1926 Tie 0-0
1947 Win 31-12
2001 Loss 21-35

Season Opener
1944 Tie 27-27
1957 Loss 0-28
1958 Loss 3-13
1981 Win 24-7

But forealdo, I don't think confidence from Kentucky can undo the horrors you guys endured against AU & MSU. I mean, absolute bloodbaths. Your fickle fanbase got gutted those games.

"It's probably the only time in my life I was intimidated by the crowd. A lot of great players have played in that stadium, but I don't know if any team has walked into that stadium and dealt with what we went through. From the time we landed to the time we left, I don't know if a team has ever gone through that. Every one of us left that night saying 'that was a game,' but I still think about it that way. I haven't been in an event like that at any level of football. Out of all the games I've ever played in, I've never been in anything like that, and I am including my Super Bowls in that assessment." - NFL Hall of Famer, Ronnie Lott

USC won the game. I was there. It was really loud and intimidating. USC had every reason to crumble, so I left pretty impressed with them when they didn't. It was a really, really good football game. My ears hurt for days afterwards.

This guy gets it:

quote:

quote:

Tiger Stadium Isn't What It Once Was... It's mostly dovetailing off the past glories. But the old gal still has life in her... And there are times, throughout it's storied history that it comes alive with drunken Cajuns spewing filth and hate and expletives at her most hated enemies... especially when her beloved Tigers are underdogs... at home... To Ole Miss? Promise you. This week will be one of those weeks. Just as the defense has finally found its chemistry. And the offensive line has picked up the NFL styled zone blocking schemes. Just like Auburn got better and better last year... Get ready Ole Piss. Cannon, Beckham and this year Tradavious White. Book it.

Gave me goosebumps, I can almost feel the energy.
Bo should run and hide
