CFB Mock Playoff Ranking (In SECR. 1st Semi set...Bama vs. FSU)

Have any posters discussed the possibility of having a mock Playoff Committee ranking, using the published committee procedures to see how they actually play out in practice?
The committee will use the following procedures, after they have done their data analysis:
College Football Playoff Selection Committee
Voting Protocol
1.Each committee member will create a list of the 25 teams he or she believes to be the best in the country, in no particular order. Teams listed by three or more members will remain under consideration.
2.Each member will list the best six teams, in no particular order. The six teams receiving the most votes will comprise the pool for the first seeding ballot.
3.In the first seeding ballot, each member will rank those six teams, one through six, with one being the best. The three teams receiving the fewest points will become the top three seeds. The three teams that were not seeded will be held over for the next seeding ballot.
4.Each member will list the six best remaining teams, in no particular order. The three teams receiving the most votes will be added to the three teams held over to comprise the next seeding ballot.
5.Steps No. 3 and 4 will be repeated until 25 teams have been seeded.
I would be interested in giving this a shot, with 10-12 others if anyone is interested. A quick glance, this process would take 8 separate rounds of seeding to seed a top 25. Obviously, this would require someone with nothing better to do than to stay on the SECRant all Sunday afternoon.
Anybody else interested or am I the only one this weird?

Also found this in the committees notes. Looks like a procedural mechanism built in when the mathematical procedures do not produce a palpable result.

Oh...oh my God! With the voting being private, this is literally the worst idea in the history of ideas

Forget my disdain for the idea of a committee, if these are the parameters they'll follow then I think this would be a blast. And I'd definitely participate. After the CCGs I think this thread would be loads of fun on the rant or MSB as well. I'd easily be able to calculate and run the thing.

I would love to try and get anyone interested and try to give it a shot this Sunday...see how close we get to the seeding released on Tuesday night.
So we have 2 interested...just need 11 more to have 13 like the original committee...before Archie left of course.

If we get a few more participants we can start looking at the specifics of making this process work in this format.
Tentatively I was thinking of something like the following:
1. Each poster list of 25 would be due at say 12:00 central time on Sunday...
2. Maybe have an hour between each round of seeding to allow us to get it done on Sunday.
Would that give you time between each round to compile the list we work from?
Any other ideas?
If we don't get enough participants from the Bama board we can move it to SECRant...might be more interesting to have posters from different teams anyway.

That would make it more manageable TBH.
Going back to look at the rules...I think they increase the number of seeds ranked each round after they get to 9.
So we could do 3 rounds of 3...then another couple of rounds of 4, 5, or 6 I think.

I think the six teams pools works good.
But for time sakejust 2 sets of six and 12-25 wont really matter with only about half the season done.

Just went back and read procedures.
List of steps so we can start getting a better idea of steps/time involved and once we get participants lined up we can better decide how far we want to take it each week.
Steps:
1. Each participant submits top 25.
2. Any team that is on more than 3 submissions is put on the "master" list
3. Each participant submits his top 6 from the master list...in random order.
4. The 6 teams receiving the most votes in step 3 will then comprise the "1st Seeding Ballot"
5. Each participant will then rank the teams on the 1st seeding ballot.
6. From step #5, we will get seeds #1, #2, & #3.
7. The 3 remaining teams from the 1st seed ballot are automatically placed on the "2nd seeding ballot"
8. Each participant submits the 6 best teams from the master list...and so on.
Once the 1st 9 seeds are placed...the actual committee is going to go to 8 teams on the seeding ballot and place 4 teams in seeds each round and I think we need to do the same.
Rounds:
1. Seeds #1, #2, & #3
2. Seeds #4, #5, & #6
3. Seeds #7, #8, & #9
4. Seeds #10, #11, #12, and #13
5. Seeds #14, #15, #16, and #17
6. Seeds #18, #19, #20, and #21
7. Seeds #22, #23, #24, and #25
I can see us being ok stopping around round 4 or 5, especially the 1st time we try it.
Yes, it will be time consuming and definitely not something that is going to be easily done in this forum...so we will need to make sure we all understand that going in.
We don't really have to set a number, as to how far we are going to take it. We may be better served to go into our 1st attempt with the agreement that we will go at least as far as the first 13 seeds...see how long that takes, then if we want to take it further we can...or just stop.
