We have recruited very well and are continuing to do so. I do not expect a big drop off and think we are set up to be competitive in the West for years to come. We might not be contending for the national championship every year, but will be in the position to compete in every game and win when everything falls into place. As you all know, winning championships has a lot of luck involved, and you just have to put your team in the position to take advantage of it when the time comes. In the past, we were never strong enough to put ourselves in that position outside a decent year here and there. You have to be decent every year to give your team a chance to win it all. I see us evolving into a similar program status to Auburn/LSU, they are good enough to win 9 to 10 games a year, and when the ball bounces the right way, they can make a run for it.

Y'all have a hell of a team, especially defense. But look where A&M's recruiting has gotten us. We all thought Sumlin and Co. had been recruiting lights out, but we just got straight up embarrassed for the third straight week.

Whats better for the program? 5 year 3/4 stars or 3 year 4/5 stars? Ask LSU before you answer.

if the topic is "staying power", this hardly seems ideal

Damn, honestly didn't realize OM was losing that much on defense. That is a whole bunch of seniors.

I'd say MSU has more staying power. They start alot of RS SR/JR, and have alot of them in the two deep. Aside from Dak, dont see anyone else on the team making a huge season changing impact on the team if they went down.

Ole Miss isn't in bad shape depth wise, just not as well off as MSU. They owe a bunch of their success to some of the insane recruiting classes they've pulled in recently. They start more young guys and they have more playmakers than MSU. If some of those guys get injured, it would be very hard for OM to replace them.

So you're saying straight up State's S&C Coach put our players on roids? Ha! That is funny. Wow.

It's a deep defense. Bryan Bennett and Serdarius Bryant both have backups who have started a season's worth of games. (I. Gross, D. Nkemdiche)

The offense returns 9 starters. We lose 1 skill player in the 2 deep #2WR Vince Sanders.

IIRC CJ Johnson got a medical redshirt for last year. He'll be back.

Well if I were an Aggie fan I'd sure as hell be worried about staying power!! From what I'm seeing this year under your current defense. .don't you think you ought to ask this question about yourselves? When it comes to recruiting, I'll take defensive recruits from MS over that from Texas any day brother.

Do they have the depth or "staying power" to last through the remainder of their schedules? Or are they one or two injuries away from a catastrophic nosedive?

Any team is any injury to the QB away from a nosedive.
However, to give an idea of the Ole Miss depth, our leading sacker is a non-starting true freshman.
