quote:

Shackelford, a rare sixth-year senior, has already received his undergraduate degree in liberal arts and his Master's degree in higher education. He's been on mission trips to Panama and Haiti. He eventually wants to get his Ph.D. and become a college athletic director, but not before he tries his luck in the NFL.

"There's a lot of different stuff I want to do, but I do still want to put on my cleats," the veteran linebacker said with a laugh.

Last year I saw him in the Union the week after we beat Vandy and I told him good game. He stopped, smiled at me and said "Thank you so much man. We do it all for you guys" and gave me a "bro hug". He's like a fricking rock. It hurt bumping into to him he is so solid.

But he is my all-time favorite rebel (Eli and Patrick Willis included).

I had a class with him my freshman year (09-10) and to this day whenever he sees me he stills says hello and does the bro hug. Just a solid dude.

No question about it. He has been a field coach all year. Its amazing what having a couple guys like him on the team can do for you.
