I didn't hunt again after that . I've been to busy trying to figure out how to pay the bills after the second crop failure in a row. It's been pretty damn stressful for me. I've been drinking more bourbon than beer lately.

Two ice storms, poor pollination, drought, scab carryover from previous year. The perfect storm of shite.

You just got pecans? I thought you planted other crops?

It about time for me to start heading back down to the roost and chasing pigs. Buddy went down today to get feeders rocking. He leased up a good bit of property on other side of the river too. Supposed to be in there thick.

Forgot to follow up on this thread.

Wasn't a good year for me. Didn't take a single deer.

Deer season is just a warm up for when the real fun starts anyways. The gobblers are where it's at.

Anyone heard birds gobbling yet? Season opens Saturday and I'm more worried about having birds than I should be. Usually have one spot that's loaded but have only been seeing a solo. Haven't been hearing good reports from anyone from Macon to the mountains about them talking. I know weather has been shite but I'm getting nervous. I locked down 300 acres by the house today that typically has a lot of birds, going to scout it out tmrw. I'm usually giddy as frick this time of year, now I'm nervous.
