LSU fans are always manic to some degree. Florida fans are having a rough go of it right now. The pigs have had a few rough years.

But I see no other fan base as despondent as the Tennessee Volunteers right now. When I talk with Vol fans they seem truly beat down and depressed. They have no hope. I have a few fans that I talk with regularly...none of them are going to the upcoming game for the first time in years.

If you are depressed about football, then that is pathetic in itself

Being a UT fan is a lot like I imagine life as Mr. Slave from South Park. We are gluttons for punishment but use a funnel rather than lemmewinks.

If UT doesn't compete next year, I'm going to jihad in southwest Asia.

I donno, Florida went from national champ to mizzou's power bottom in way less time than tennessee's decline. I have to think the complete lack of foreplay the Florida fanbase has gotten has been extremely damaging to their collective colon.

It is rough to be a UT fan, but the game is sold out Saturday. Proud that the fanbase is as loyal as it is.

UT should compete next year. UGA, USCe, Bama, and to a lesser extent, UF are all breaking in new starting QBs for 2015. If you don't compete next year, then I have no clue when you will.

It gave us the sads to lose that game. Last year though, we had no skill players despite y'all giving us every opportunity to win and Peterman was just bloody awful. This year though, we should've won it but our offense couldn't find a way to do so - same ole story for UT vs. Florida Muschamp is pretty much irrelevant to the outcome - it's UF (we find ways to lose it - we lost to Zook). Although I do think we would've won had Driskel stayed in.

That said, intellectually I know that that outcome isn't unexpected given how poorly out O matched with your D (our OL never stood a chance and you were able to rush 3 and cover all the WRs), Muschamp got a bye week ahead of time. He was able to pull your D back together for at least one game - SMH that it had to be our game which given how cursed we already feel just adds to it.

We've been on a particularly brutal stretch (our schedule this year is front loaded and we really, really needed a win during it). However, at the start of this year none of us expected to beat UF. We also expected 6-6 and that's still achievable. We knew at the start that even that goal would be hard as hell to reach.

We also knew the OL was gonna be bad this year but none of us, myself included, realized HOW BAD. The fact that our defense is good and we know we've got the skills players we need makes the OL holding back the team all the more frustrating.

Seeing the defense play lights out and knowing everything is working but the OL is almost worse than knowing you're not quite there.

It's been bad, but we've sold out all but one of our home games which was Chattanooga. Our fans also brought around 15,000 to Ole Miss and organized the checkerboard Neyland thing.

Don't get me wrong the past years have sucked, but with our young talent and recruiting, there's a lot of optimism around the program.

Nobody in the SEC has been through the pain and suffering that us Tennessee fans have been through the past 7 years. Nobody. It's been a perfect storm of traumatic events of everything going wrong. We take one step forward and then take five steps back with something like 3 players robbing a gas station, a coach leaving 10 days before NSD or hiring the worst coach in SEC history who couldn't count to 11 or sign one OL in recruiting.

With that said Tennessee fans are loyal as hell. Nobody can question the passion and commitment to excellence from our fan base. We are starving for a feel good moment and we will get it right.

That was pretty cool. Between the frat boys and the old geezers, no way in hell we could do anything remotely similar.

No joke. All of the women at Ole Miss would have been pissed by having to wear the same colors as the rest.

I'd rather be Tennessee, a team with history than a team like Vandy and Kentucky who have no football glory days other than scrapping 9 win seasons when East teams are down.
