I don't understand what the big deal is about College Gameday these days.. I remember as a kid it being a big deal and getting excited about it especially if Auburn hosted, but 15 to 20 years later it seems to be very overrated and way too long. I personally enjoy watching SEC Nation more. I'm over Corso putting on head gear and making another wrong prediction. I think it lost a lot of appeal when it started going to a location every single week. It was better when they only picked a few location's a year to set up at, made it mean more when they came to campus.

Just a MS thing this year

It's not a big deal to us because we have it at least once a year usually, it's a huge deal to OM and MSU because they had never hosted

In the 90s when Auburn was a top 25 but not top 10 program, it was pretty cool when we had Gameday and were the center of the CFB universe for the week.

Now, we've grown more accustomed to it, so it's not a huge deal. But, if a Mississippi school or Kentucky or something, I would still be pretty pumped about it, even if I didn't participate.

I'd much rather watch Gameday than SEC Nation, but I generally don't watch it in it's entirety (and that is only when I am at home because we are playing a road game). Pause it to go do some things, come back and scan for something I want to watch, etc.

I do remember in the mid-2000s during the Shula years that getting Gameday on campus was a huge deal. It just isn't really that big a deal anymore (yea yea #bamaproz).

I haven't watched it at all the past couple years, I did catch Katy Perry though.

I like seeing the fans gathered around in the morning holding up goofy signs and being obnoxious. I enjoy taking a look at the match-ups for the day ahead. I enjoy seeing a little about the campus and school they are visiting.

The celebrities and the fluff have gone too far though.

The Mississippi teams are excited and they should be. There have been many times that I wished bama was good enough to host it.

It usually means you have one of, if not the biggest games of the week on your campus. That alone should at least get you excited. Watching it on TV(something I have been unable to do this year) has become less fun for whatever reason. I just think the overall production took a hit around 3 years ago.

Yeah, like, why would anyone want a 4 hour infomercial about their school on Saturday morning while everyone in America is watching?

Because its a segment around and about a school you attended. Something most should take pride in.

This thread will be telling on who is a sidewalk fan

Gameday is really cool to have at your school. The celebrity guest is fun & it's just neat seeing everything on location or on television.

We had never hosted it before this year and were admittedly butthurt about it. We finally host it and put on the greatest show they've ever had. Katy Perry was the GOAT guest picker and made LSU her bitch. Now LSU fans are pumped about Gameday for once because they want revenge.

Also it was a big deal because State hosted it the week after us for the first time and desperately wanted to out do us, but failed miserably.

That sums it up.

I'm doing my wife chores on Saturday mornings so I haven't watched it in years. It was pretty damn cool seeing it live, though, and there were tons of people on campus much earlier than would have been otherwise.

In the tiger rant thread talking about Gameday signs, 80% of the suggestions consist of demeaning Katy Perry in some way.

The thread went like 6 pages.

I would say she made you her bitch.

Strange that this has turned into a brag...
