Looking back at the Magnolia Bowl, the two memories that stand out in my mind are the schools' 2011 and 2013 meetings.

Both the 2011 and 2013 games were at Ole Miss, but they had totally different outcomes. OM upset LSU last year, while the Tigers left Oxford 2011 without the Rebels putting up much of a fight

In the 2011 contest, LSU had the ball on the OM 1 yard line with over 5 mins left, up 52-3. Instead of punching the ball in and going up 59-3, Les Miles decided to have his team kneel down on the ball on four straight plays, turning the ball over on downs.

The two commentators here weigh in with their thoughts as well

Les was bound to receive criticism either way. Score, and you run up the score. Kneel, and you rub it into your opponent that you dont need to try against them.

To LSU's defense, they ran the ball the entire second half not trying to run up the score, yet the Ole Miss D could not stop anything.

What says the sec rant? Nice move by not trying to run up the score? Or dick move by kneeling on your opponent's 1 yard line?

Well I can't say which one is better, but I definitely know which one your mom would choose: taking to her knees.

A kneeling Mettenburger wouldn't be a terrible Gamday sign.

Judging by his sig, I think he's a huge fan of this skit that references Danny Woodhead at the end of it:

Mett actually scored on the previous play but CLM asked the refs not to review it.

LSU should have scored more. We sucked. Too bad for LSU that their good team is now gone and now our team is good.

I was in New Orleans the day after that game and some d-bag was driving through the Quarter in a huge truck with a big Ole Miss sticker. I remember thinking "If there was any day an Ole Miss fan should lay low..."
