Yeah, wtf is going on? I saw Tommy B's last post but then Baja pretty much said Worley will start.

I'd like to know what Butch's deal with Kendrick is too.

I think all the Worley fluff is purely coach speak for Bama. He has an injured labrum and will not play.

I'm fully expecting Peterman to start but with a short leash.

My mom (who listens to local sports radio all the time and is definitely no Phyllis, FWIW!) said all she's heard is Peterman, Peterman, Peterman. I really hope this isn't true but she said the Knoxville radio guys keep acting like it's Peterman all the way.

VQ pretty much confirms what Tommy said. Doesn't sound like Worley will play. Peterman to start and Dobbs to play.

The fact is, Worley had not thrown a single pass on Haslam Field late-week, and Worley had been under almost constant care from the Vols' medical staff. Safe to say, despite plenty of time in there this season, Worley spent more time than ever this week in Tennessee's state-of-the-art training/rehab center trying to get his shoulder healed enough to play again.

Tennessee's coaches recognized the dire nature of the situation at the very onset of the week; Nathan Peterman and Joshua Dobbs took all the reps with the first-team offense on Monday afternoon, and that pattern essentially remained unchanged throughout the remainder of the week. While Peterman is the expected starter, all indications are that Dobbs will see action as well if Worley does indeed not play on Saturday.

This makes zero sense to me unless they intend to ease Dobbs into the role. The big issue for Dobbs, I think, is that because he's been redshirting til now, he has no idea just how BAD that oline is.

I'm simply terrified of the notion of Peterman starting. Yes, he's improved. Yes, he's technically sound. BUT he just folds under pressure and his blindside is 360 degrees even when he has time. Since he may well be starting, I hope like hell he makes me eat crow and love it. But I'm skeered of seeing him in non-trash time.

This is a Dooley-esque move, if true. Why the frick would you pull Dobbs' redshirt this late in the year just to put him in a platoon with the worst QB in Tennessee history?!?

Good god

Idk if I'm more frustrated about the QB situation or the Kendrick/Gilliam one

I'd rather have one of the WRs run the wildcat rather than have peterman on the field. If he plays most of the game, at least 5 sacks and 2 fumbles tomorrow.

Well I disagree, if we burn it we will still have two years of him left and we ought to be able to bring in a good guy to replace him by then and that's if some of these guys we get in February don't work out

ETA: Don't underestimate the effect on recruiting there will be if we don't make a bowl this year and no way we do that with Peterman playing QB for much more this year. Sure Saturday it doesn't matter but it will after that if Worley is out for a while

If Peterman plays tomorrow I won't want to watch the game, but I will because I'm a glutton for punishment.

Forget Dobbs RS. He's got the rest of this year with 2 more to play following this season. He's got plenty of time remaining. Peterman loses you every game left on the schedule. He's that bad. Personally, I don't care if he looks like John Elway in practice if he plays like a deer in headlights in real time. If it does happen, it'll be the first "sober" "What the frick are you doing moment" with Butch. The thought of Peterman playing is terrifying IMO
