Has anyone thought about this a-hole actually returning to knoxville? How is the Vols fanbase going to react?

Nobody has. Is there a beer festival he will be attending there or something?

Saban went back to Baton Rouge in 2008 and everything was peachy. Pretty sure Kiffin will be fine.

Vols are going have Tosh.O on there sidelines.. That would be epic if Tosh really did get on Vols sideline for this game.

They will be classy and cheer him for the one great year he gave to them.

Pretty hilarious that the best season by far of the last 7 in Knoxville was Kiffin's one year there.

I'll be in attendance and I expect to hear many expletives. I'm hoping for anarchy.

They won 10 games and the East in 2007

That was 8 years ago

And while that was a better year than 2009, they also got blown out by Cal by 14 (worse than the score indicated), Florida (39) and Alabama (24).

Worried about Oct 25th

Everything was peachy?

“It was very negative, getting hung in effigy and burned at the stake and just about everything that could happen happened,” he said about his first return to LSU in 2008. “The way I tried to manage that with the players is to let them know that that was going to happen and to not be affected by it, and that it would probably be pretty rowdy when we got off the bus to go to the locker room, but that would really have nothing to do with what happened in the game. That was going to come down to what we did on the field.

Yeah we welcomed Saban back with open arms. It was touching.

I remember, I was there.

Like he said - once the game started all that crap went out the window. It was just another wild Alabama-LSU game.

Can't be any worse than when Saban returned to Baton Rouge back in '08, it doesn't matter what the Vol fanbase reaction will be because Bama wins this game.

Honestly, maybe I missed all the riots but it really wasn't wild and crazy at all (for an LSU game).

The place was rocking because we were undefeated and you guys wanted to ruin Saban's first big year and everything, but I definitley never felt some sort of scary tension around me in our outside of the stadium.

2007 was 7 years ago man. Technically that season was still going on less than 7 years ago.

Ah I was using this year as a season. 2008 - 2014.

While I can understand wanting to use the LSU-Saban return, what Kiffin did to us isn't in the same league as Saban going to the NFL then landing at BAMA later. LSU fans tend to be less welcoming than Vol fans but this may change that.

I really hope it doesn't turn as badly as I fear it can.

He's been their best HC since Fulmer left, so they should welcome him.
