But isn't it kinda ironic the Cardinals single-handedly gave the Royals home field advantage? Consider it a congratulations gift.

Any other team in the AL and I'm on board with you. The Royals are my one exception. Truly, there is not one single other AL team I even remotely like.

I wonder if Matheny will discuss that in his new book?
Chapter 12: How to be Just Good Enough in October, so You Can Suck Balls While Managing the All-Star Game.

Remember Royals you need to field your postions. Botchy knows no one plays team defense anymore. He is going to make you make the simple plays.
Good luck !!!!
Good luck !!!!

It's one game. Giants' pitching is hittable now.

"Big Game James" was "No Game James" last night.
He is really hurting his free agency value this post season. 5 innings and under. I'm actually kinda happy about it. I like Shields, I'd love for the Royals to be able to keep him. I know it sounds crazy but....... We wouldn't be able to afford him otherwise.

Shields 2014 postseason ERA is 7.11
His career postseason ERA including the WS run with Tampa is in the high 5's....yikes.

Kind of thought maybe Yost was or is leaning on him a little too much in the post season. He started every post season series. He may be getting tired.
Once Duffy settled down, he did pretty well. Finesse pitchers seem to deal the Giants more trouble.
Ventura is up tonight. I'm a little nervous with this matchup. San Fran has some good fast ball hitters. If he doesn't have good movement or can't spot his pitches, it could get ugly quick. Salvy needs to watch him close and keep him focused. San Fran are going to get hits and get on base.

i've been pulling for the Royals but everything goes the Giants way in the postseason, the Royals never had a chance against those lucky SOB's. San Francisco has never known heart break, won every SB they were ever in but one and if they finish this thats 3 out of 5 world series, even New York, Boston, and St louis have experienced heartbreak but not the bay area.
sorry for the rant I'm just bitter after my Cards took it in the rear from them again, just tired of everything going their way.

Royals have had nearly the same amount of luck this postseason as any other team ive ever seen.

The Royals made most of their luck with clutch hits, the Giants needed clutch pitching errors.

Gotta take advantage of every game Bumgarner isn't pitching in.

Ha Ha! How'd ya like Strickland's meltdown last night. Salvy is a heck of a nice guy to be picked on. I'm not sure if he and Hunter would have duked it out, Strickland might have needed an armed escort out of Kansas City. Slavy is well loved in this town.
