I've been playing for a while (since the military) and was wondering if anyone else plays often or did at one point or another.

Also, good evening from here.

What's your strategy? I personally like to purposely low-ball and see if I can pass on books.

I'm horrible at it, but I give it a shot every now and then. It has been a while though.

It's always better to have a consistent partner -- that's usually what the problem is.

I pretty good at it too. I don't purposely low ball anything but I will call a few less books when the other team overbids and set them.

We play straight spades where Ace is high with no trading cards on lows.

Likewise.

I like to challenge myself sometimes.

Nope, never learned how, I'm afraid.

There's a group of airmen who play in the break room every now and then, but i'm usually busy when they're playing.

Just depends on my partner. But my favorite thing to do is go blind 10-200, totally ruins the other teams night when we pull it off.

I've only ever really played with blacks -- Christ, Tbird.

Get it together. Learn online while you're not busy.

It's a good couples game if your wife isn't crazy.

It's actually not too hard to pull off as long as the other team is fairly vocal about what they have -- usually novices.

I hate when my partner goes zero, though, I get really nervous.

Who was usually your partner? My roommate (who usually threw the party) was mine.

Good guy, except for the trip to Leavenworth.

I play with my in-laws religiously. We probably play 75-100 500 point games between Oct - Christmas.

I just recently learned that some people play with hand bags and if you acquire 10 you lose 100. I tried to introduce this rule because my BiL is a notrious hedger and was booed mercilessly.

T, there's a good app for the game out there to teach you. And let you play games without fear of ridicule.
I play on the pot all the time.

I play hearts every now and then, but never got into spades.

I've always played like this -- and yeah you gotta do that system or it's too easy. It also adds another dimension to the game about getting the correct number of books.
