How do the playoffs shake out if so many of the top 5 are in the SEC?

I mean...even if they beat up on each other and lose to another top 5 in a close game...you can't really put them below some overrated big 10 or 12 or PAC 10 team with a cupcake schedule, can you?

Or are the playoffs basically a big FU to the SEC?

Nailed it.

No SEC domination the last few years = no playoff

well yes you can, and the most the sec will have is two, probably just one.

the Iron bowl gives one of those teams a 3rd loss and eliminates them or the egg Bowl and iron bowl winners play in the playoff, losers don't

Well it is impossible to have more than 2 one loss SEC teams when the selections are made. 18 current 1 loss teams.

Two SEC teams will probably be in and then FSu and a non SEC one loss team.

Only way the SEC gets two in is if there is an undefeated West team that loses a close one in the SEC championship.

East gets bid due to championship.
1 loss West team could sneak in, depending on the records of other conference champions.

Disagree. West could very well get two teams in and probably will if the west wins in Atl.

I think you're not realizing the emphasis these people are going to put on conference champions.

Half those teams will cancel each other out.

State plays Bama and OM.
OM plays Auburn and State.
BAMA plays Auburn and State.
Auburn plays Bama and OM.

Only 2 can win out either Bama and OM or Auburn and State. If Auburn or Bama loses again they are out unless they still somehow win the SEC.

The problem will be is if none win out who is the 2nd team that could get in and whether you drop the Loser of the egg bowl behind the winner of the iron bowl if they won the head to head against that same team early in the year.

Well if an east team loses the SECC game, then they aren't exactly conf champions...

An east team isn't getting in unless they win in ATL.

just depends ... if the miss schools only loss is to the other, then there's very good chance both get in ... osu's loss to vtech gets worse and worse every week, so msu needs to win out if they b10 is to get someone comfortably in ... fsu will win out, regardless of what anyone else does ... bama, and maybe auburn, gets a bump based on previous titles, tho we need ole miss to lose twice for that to happen ... they'd rather not have 2 sec schools, but it might not look good to have a b10 champ that lost to vtech over a 1-loss sec school ...

Nobody ever wants to talk about that East domination. PECULIAR.

Moo State or Ole Miss loses one while.the other goes unbeaten. The winner of the egg bowl loses to UGA. Now what?

Let's quit saying an "East" team and just say UGA as none of the others have a shot at Atlanta or winning in Atlanta, let alone a playoff birth.

0% chance three SEC teams make it. Therefore, if the SEC ends the season with three one loss teams in any fashion, the committee will only select one: the conference champ. I don't see them picking two one loss teams, while leaving the third out, unless it's a conference champ Georgia over a one loss Mississippi team.

To get 2 teams, two teams need to excel now and the rest of the league needs to collapse.
