Could depth at the RB position effect our game plan. In 2006 we were loaded and were held below expectation, in 2007 Knowshon Moreno came on late and we exceeded expectations. To start the season we were playing at the opponents level with the exception of the Clempson game. The past couple of weeks we focused our game plan around 1 RB, Nick Chubb and look like a Championship team.
2006 Team went 9-4 with:
Danny Ware 6'0 225lbs
Kregg Lumpkin 5'11 228lbs
Thomas Brown 5'8 200lbs
Knowshon Moreno 5'11 220lbs(Redshirt)

Now
Todd Gurley 6'1 226lbs
Nick Chubb 5'10 228lbs
Sony Michel 5'11 208lbs
Keith Marshall 5'11 215(Medical Setback)

When Gurley, Michel and Marshall is put back in the game plan, will we see a drop off in overall Team production?

No.

Anything we get from backups is lagniappe considering gurley is the best rb we've had in over 30 years. Having him play in no way hurts our team

What we're seeing right now is a team that is getting better as the season progresses. Has nothing to do with whether Gurley is in there or not. We're improving and it's showing. We'll be even better when Gurley comes back. If he comes back.

Against Mizzou we scored the least number of points we did all year. Chubb is a great player, but no Gurley. We've created 9 turnovers in the last two games. That is the biggest difference. Almost every quality championship team has at least two solid running backs. Having Nick Chubb/Sony Michel be the change of pace guy instead of Brendan Douglas is going to be a massive improvement and will provide us with the best rb tandem in the country. Using 2006 is also a terrible example, because this year's team already has more rushing yards than that team did. Our running backs have not even come close to being one of our problems this year.

I don't think it's a curse , but I do think someone your so worried about keeping them fresh , that you forget that thee guys are special and are used to getting the rock every series (from high school ). Sometimes it's a detriment to rotate so much that they never get lathered up enough.

How do y'all think it should be played. I think they should all get the ball every series , try to get them all going. Even if that means Gurley in the backfield and Michel on speed sweeps. Or run TG till he asks out and then the same which Chubb . I definitely think the could be a problem if you go TG first series, NC second, etc.
