I figure you (feral) are a young man, but with plenty of smarts.

After going to the game today, and sitting 50yd line, great sight lines. If we cant fill up WMS and the majority of the fans in their seats prior to kickoff, MOVE THE GAMES NOW. That was absolutely pathetic. I hate it, will miss the memories, but this sucked.

The game.. Horrible. The improvement we saw the past few weeks looks like it was an anomaly to me. Because today we were outmatched period.

But, (and no, we still would have lost the game) the officiating was terrible as well. The targeting or personal foul where Mitchell was ejected was Crap! The continual calls were unbelievable. The cheap shots by GA was also unbelievable. Yes, we were outmatched period. But the officials.. WOW

CHANEY!!! I yelled right above to his little booth. What is he doing. These calls are again, Terrible. We were beaten before we went on the field today imho. Sad...

Yeah, not selling out a day before a game against a top 10 team was what was frustrating me the most. I love that place -- we had our son's first birthday party in the press box two years ago -- but it upsets me when the vocal central Arkansas crowd (not you, generally toward those in C. Arkansas who feel like the U of A owes them something) cries and whines about losing games but does nothing to positively impact the program or the situation.

You'll never hear me refer to it as a dump or Waste Management Stadium, but the last three years and the financial realties of playing there have emphasized the fact that the pro-WMS crowd is Nero fiddling while Rome burns.

ETA -- we gave our tickets to my brother and he echoed your general thoughts on the game and the atmosphere.

I wasn't on the 50 but yes yes yes- the crowd was not good at all. I realize the game shut us up some but it was just flat and dead from the beginning.

Also, I guess the student section was too small because my nephs and 3 of their friends got in and had no place to sit. The ushers apologized and had them go look for a seat elsewhere.

I sat close enough to the Georgia section- close enough to be depressed they were louder than we were.

Time to quit LR.

Well they actually had something to cheer for.

It certainly wasn't rocking like I'm used to hearing. I don't see how anyone could argue that???

And yes obviously they had something to cheer for I watched the game.

That's such a shame piggilicous. The crowd sounded nothing like they used to (from tv).

When was the last time the WMS crowd sounded like anything other than an average crowd at a P5 game?

I don't know this was my first LR game in a few years- it just wasn't what I remembered, of course part of that could be memories sweetened over the years.

Did they do the wave?

LR loves the wave.

It was rocking on our first drive. After that there was really nothing at all to cheer for. It got loud on some third downs but we never got a stop. The one time we got a stop, Tevin Mitchell's dumb arse gave them an automatic first down.

Can't blame the fans for that shite show.

Crowd was pretty weak, imo. I realize that there wasn't a lot to cheer for, but my section (15) seemed to want to sit the entire game (which is uncomfortable for me in those cramped bleachers).

Tailgating is certainly fun at WMS, but the actual stadium atmosphere wasn't what I expected from all the hype of the central Arkansas folks in the GSD.

Oh, I did see two Hog fans get into a screaming and cussing match with each other about 3 minutes into the game, and the state troopers got to come and break it up.

Classy.

That's what happens when you're losing 38-6 at halftime. It's not like the atmosphere would have been better in a different stadium.

The delusion of WMS being such a great atmosphere comes from the brief moments of excitement when coming back from behind to beat LSU a few times.

It is no different between the two when playing Ms. State in LR or Eastern Michigan at home.

Bama in 2010 was more rocking and electric than LR could ever wish to be.

Sold out Arkansas games have occurred in WMS for many decades, so if that's no longer happening, then it's either because some fans are trying to make a point, or the University is losing a grip on fans in the southern regions of the state. Although it's pathetic to not support the team to make a point, I hope that's the reason.

And I don't believe for a minute that the condition of WMS, or the environment on game days, has anything to do with the sudden lackluster attendance there. And I'm not arguing in favor of WMS, either.

It goes back far longer then that. I don't even consider that one of the bigger wins at WMS. But it's hard to compare, because back when half the games were played in WMS, we weren't playing a top-10 team every other week.

Also worth mentioning that unless you lived closer to Memphis, Dallas or Tulsa, Little Rock was the best opportunity for many Arkansans to experience any sense of a city. That's no longer true with the growth of smaller cities in the state, therefore there's not the excitement for attending LR games that there once was.

U of A was to blame for not selling those last tickets out. $100 a ticket (endzone seats), are you kidding me?

Some folks were postulating that the U of A didn't WANT a sellout, well, they found a way how.
